Development of the kaon tagging system for the NA62 experiment at CERN / Goudzovski, Evgueni (Birmingham U.) ; Krivda, Marian (Birmingham U. ; Kosice, IEF) ; Lazzeroni, Cristina (Orsay) ; Massri, Karim (Birmingham U.) ; Newson, Francis O. (Birmingham U.) ; Pyatt, Simon (Birmingham U.) ; Romano, Angela (Birmingham U.) ; Serghi, Xen (Birmingham U.) ; Sergi, Antonino (Birmingham U.) ; Staley, Richard J. (Birmingham U.) et al.
The NA62 experiment at CERN aims to make a precision measurement of the ultra-rare decay $K^{+} \rightarrow \pi^{+}\nu\overline{\nu}$, and relies on a differential Cherenkov detector (KTAG) to identify charged kaons at an average rate of 50 MHz in a 750 MHz unseparated hadron beam. The experimental sensitivity of NA62 to K-decay branching ratios (BR) of $10^{-11}$ requires a time resolution for the KTAG of better than 100 ps, an efficiency better than 95% and a contamination of the kaon sample that is smaller than $10^{-4}$. AION: An Atom Interferometer Observatory and Network / Badurina, L. (King's Coll. London) ; Bentine, E. (U. Oxford (main)) ; Blas, D. (King's Coll. London) ; Bongs, K. (Birmingham U.) ; Bortoletto, D. (U. Oxford (main)) ; Bowcock, T. (U. Liverpool (main)) ; Bridges, K. (U. Liverpool (main)) ; Bowden, W. (Teddington, Natl. Phys. Lab ; Imperial Coll., London) ; Buchmueller, O. (Imperial Coll., London) ; Burrage, C. (U. Nottingham) et al.
We outline the experimental concept and key scientific capabilities of AION (Atom Interferometer Observatory and Network), a proposed UK-based experimental programme using cold strontium atoms to search for ultra-light dark matter, to explore gravitational waves in the mid-frequency range between the peak sensitivities of the LISA and LIGO/Virgo/ KAGRA/INDIGO/Einstein Telescope/Cosmic Explorer experiments, and to probe other frontiers in fundamental physics. AION would complement other planned searches for dark matter, as well as probe mergers involving intermediate mass black holes and explore early universe cosmology. [...]

Search for lepton number and flavour violation in $K^+ $ and $\pi^0$ decays / NA62 Collaboration
Searches for the lepton number violating $K^+ \to \pi^− \mu^+ e^+$ decay and the lepton flavour violating $K^+ \to \pi^+ \mu^- e^+$ and $\pi^0 \to \mu^- e^+$ decays are reported using data collected by the NA62 experiment at CERN in 2017$-$2018. No evidence for these decays is found and upper limits of the branching ratios are obtained at 90% confidence level: B($K^+ \to \pi^− \mu^+ e^+$) $< 4.2 \times 10^{−11}$, B($K^+ \to \pi^+ \mu^- e^+$) $< 6.6 \times 10^{−11}$ and B($\pi^0 \to \mu^- e^+$) $< 3.2 \times 10^{−10}$. Search for heavy neutral lepton production in $K^+$ decays / NA62 Collaboration
A search for heavy neutral lepton production in $K^+$ decays using a data sample collected with a minimum bias trigger by the NA62 experiment at CERN in 2015 is reported. Upper limits at the $10^{-7}$ to $10^{-6}$ level are established on the elements of the extended neutrino mixing matrix $|U_{\ell 4}|^2$ ($\ell=e,\mu$) for heavy neutral lepton mass in the range $170-448~{\rm MeV}/c^2$. First search for $K^+ \to \pi^+ \nu \bar\nu$ using the decay-in-flight technique / NA62 Collaboration
The NA62 experiment at the CERN SPS reports the first search for $K^+ \to \pi^+ \nu \bar{\nu}$ using the decay-in-flight technique, based on a sample of $1.21\times10^{11}$ $K^+$ decays collected in 2016. The single event sensitivity is $3.15 \times 10^{-10}$, corresponding to 0.267 Standard Model events. [...]
