Quark and gluon contents of a lepton at high energies / Han, Tao (Pittsburgh U.) ; Ma, Yang (Pittsburgh U.) ; Xie, Keping (Pittsburgh U.)
In high-energy leptonic collisions, such as at a multi-TeV muon collider, the collinear splittings of the electroweak (EW) gauge bosons and leptons are the dominant phenomena, and the scattering processes should thus be formulated in terms of the EW parton distribution functions (EW PDFs). We complete this formalism in the Standard Model to include the QCD sector and evaluate the quark and gluon PDFs inside a lepton at the double-log accuracy. [...]

LePDF: Standard Model PDFs for high-energy lepton colliders / Garosi, Francesco (SISSA, Trieste ; INFN, Trieste) ; Marzocca, David (INFN, Trieste) ; Trifinopoulos, Sokratis (MIT, Cambridge, CTP)
The emission of collinear radiation off an elementary lepton can be factorised from the hard scattering process by introducing Parton Distribution Functions of a Lepton (LePDF), which, contrary to protons, can be derived from first principles. In case of multi-TeV lepton colliders, such as the muon colliders currently being proposed, the complete structure of Standard Model interactions must be taken into account. [...]

Anomalous $Z'$ and Diboson Resonances at the LHC / Ismail, Ahmed (Pittsburgh U.) ; Katz, Andrey (CERN ; Geneva U., Dept. Theor. Phys. ; Geneva U., CAP)
We propose novel collider searches which can significantly improve the LHC reach to new gauge bosons $Z'$ with mixed anomalies with the electroweak (EW) gauge group. Such a $Z'$ necessarily acquires a Chern-Simons coupling to the EW gauge bosons and these couplings can drive both exotic $Z$ decays into $Z'\gamma$ if the new gauge boson is sufficiently light, as well as $Z'$ decays into EW gauge bosons. While the exotic decay rate of the heavy $Z$ into $Z'\gamma$ is too small to be observed at the LHC, for a light $Z'$, we show the potential of a lepton jet search in association with a photon to probe the rare decay $Z \to Z' \gamma$..

High energy leptonic collisions and electroweak parton distribution functions / Han, Tao (Pittsburgh U.) ; Ma, Yang (Pittsburgh U.) ; Xie, Keping (Pittsburgh U.)
In high-energy leptonic collisions well above the electroweak scale, the collinear splitting mechanism of the electroweak gauge bosons becomes the dominant phenomena via the initial state radiation and the final state showering. We point out that at future high-energy lepton colliders, such as a multi-TeV muon collider, the electroweak parton distribution functions (EW PDFs) should be adopted as the proper description for partonic collisions of the initial states. Searching for heavy leptophilic Z′: from lepton colliders to gravitational waves / Dasgupta, Arnab (Pittsburgh U.) ; Dev, P S Bhupal (McDonnell Ctr. Space Sci.) ; Han, Tao (Pittsburgh U.) ; Padhan, Rojalin (Pittsburgh U. ; Bhubaneswar, Inst. Phys. ; HBNI, Mumbai) ; Wang, Si (Pittsburgh U.) ; Xie, Keping (Pittsburgh U. ; Michigan State U.)
We study the phenomenology of leptophilic $Z'$ gauge bosons at the future high-energy $e^+e^-$ and $\mu^+\mu^-$ colliders, as well as at the gravitational wave observatories. The leptophilic $Z'$ model, although well-motivated, remains largely unconstrained from current low-energy and collider searches for $Z'$ masses above ${\cal O}(100~{\rm GeV})$, thus providing a unique opportunity for future lepton colliders. Production of $W$, $Z$, and charged hadrons in Pb+Pb collisions with the ATLAS detector / Grabowska-Bold, Iwona (speaker) (AGH University of Science and Technology (PL))
Measurements of $W^{\pm}$, $Z$, and charged-hadron production in Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=5.02$ TeV are presented using data recorded by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC in 2015 corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of 0.49\,nb${}^{-1}$. The the electro-weak (EW) bosons are reconstructed in both the electron and muon decay channels. [...]

By measuring the substructure of a jet, one can assign it a "quark" or "gluon" tag. In the eikonal (double-logarithmic) limit, quark/gluon discrimination is determined solely by the color factor of the initiating parton (C_F versus C_A). [...]

Measurements of $\pi^\pm$, $K^\pm$, $p$ and $\bar{p}$ spectra in $^7$Be+$^9$Be collisions at beam momenta from 19$A$ to 150$A$ GeV/$c$ with the NA61/SHINE spectrometer at the CERN SPS / NA61/SHINE Collaboration
The NA61/SHINE experiment at the CERN Super Proton Synchrotron (SPS) studies the onset of deconfinement in hadron matter by a scan of particle production in collisions of nuclei with various sizes at a set of energies covering the SPS energy range. This paper presents results on inclusive double-differential spectra, transverse momentum and rapidity distributions and mean multiplicities of $\pi^\pm$, $K^\pm$, $p$ and $\bar{p}$ produced in the 20% most $central$ $^7$Be+$^9$Be collisions at beam momenta of 19$A$, 30$A$, 40$A$, 75$A$ and 150$A$ GeV/$c$.
