The levels in Sn129 populated from the β− decay of In129 isomers were investigated at the ISOLDE facility of CERN using the newly commissioned ISOLDE Decay Station (IDS). The lowest 1/2+ state and the 3/2+ ground state in Sn129 are expected to have configurations dominated by the neutron s1/2 (l=0) and d3/2 (l=2) single-particle states, respectively. [...]

The β− decay of Mg34 was used to study the Al34 nucleus through γ spectroscopy at the Isotope Separator On-Line facility of CERN. Previous studies identified two β-decaying states in Al34 having spin-parity assignments Jπ=4− dominated by the normal configuration π(d5/2)−1⊗ν(f7/2) and Jπ=1+ by the intruder configuration π(d5/2)−1⊗ν(d3/2)−1(f7/2)2. The occurrence of octupolar shapes in the Ba isotopic chain was recently established experimentally up to $N=90$. To further extend the systematics, the evolution of shapes in the most neutron-rich members of the $Z=56$ isotopic chain accessible at present, $^{148,150}$Ba, has been studied via $\beta$ decay at the ISOLDE Decay Station. Investigation of the $\Delta n = 0$ selection rule in Gamow-Teller transitions: The $\beta$-decay of $^{207}$Hg
/ Berry, T A (Surrey U.) ; Podolyák, Zs (Surrey U.) ; Carroll, R J (Surrey U.) ; Lică, R (CERN ; Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Grawe, H ; Timofeyuk, N K (Surrey U.) ; Alexander, T (Surrey U.) ; Andreyev, A N (York U., England) ; Ansari, S (Cologne U.) ; Borge, M J G (CERN ; Madrid, Inst. Estructura Materia) et al.
Gamow-Teller $\beta$ decay is forbidden if the number of nodes in the radial wave functions of the initial and final states is different. This $\Delta n=0$ requirement plays a major role in the $\beta$ decay of heavy neutron-rich nuclei, affecting the nucleosynthesis through the increased half-lives of nuclei on the astrophysical $r$-process pathway below both $Z=50$ (for $N>82$ ) and $Z=82$ (for $N>126$). $β$ decay studies of n-rich Cs isotopes with the ISOLDE Decay Station
/ Lică, R (CERN ; Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Benzoni, G (INFN, Milan) ; Morales, A I (INFN, Milan) ; Borge, M J G (CERN ; Madrid, Inst. Estructura Materia) ; Fraile, L M (UCM, Madrid, Dept. Neutron-rich Ba isotopes are expected to exhibit octupolar correlations, reaching their maximum in isotopes around mass A = 146. The odd-A neutron-rich members of this isotopic chain show typical patterns related to non-axially symmetric shapes, which are however less marked compared to even-A ones, pointing to a major contribution from vibrations. Search for shape-coexisting 0$^+$ states in $^{66}$Ni from lifetime measurements
/ Olaizola, B (UCM, Madrid, Dept. Phys.) ; Fraile, L M (UCM, Madrid, Dept. Phys.) ; Mach, H (UCM, Madrid, Dept. The lifetime of the 0$_3^+$ state in $^{66}$Ni, two neutrons below the $N=40$ subshell gap, has been measured. The transition $B(E2;0_3^+ \rightarrow 2_1^+)$ is one of the most hindered E2 transitions in the Ni isotopic chain and it implies that, unlike $^{68}$Ni, there is a spherical structure at low excitation energy. Beta decay is a primary source of information of the structure of a nucleus. An accurate measurement of the half-life of a nucleus is essential for the proper determination of the reduced Gammow–Teller transition probability $B$(GT) [...]

The $β$ decay of $^{207}$Hg into the single-proton-hole nucleus $^{207}$Tl has been studied through $γ$-ray spectroscopy at the ISOLDE Decay Station (IDS) with the aim of identifying states resulting from coupling of the $πs^{−1}_{1/2}, πd^{−1}_{3/2},$ and $πh^{−1}_{11/2}$ shell model orbitals to the collective octupole vibration. Twenty-two states were observed lying between 2.6 and 4.0 MeV, eleven of which were observed for the first time, and 78 new transitions were placed. [...]

The main goal of this work is to study the structure of the highest energy states in $^8$Be populated following the $\beta^+$-decay and the electron capture (EC) of $^8$B. With this aim, two experiments were performed at ISOLDE-CERN in 2017 and 2018. [...]
