Novel subjet observables for jet quenching in heavy-ion collisions
/ Apolinário, Liliana (LIP, Lisbon ; Lisbon, IST) ; Milhano, José Guilherme (LIP, Lisbon ; CERN) ; Ploskon, Mateusz (LBNL, Berkeley) ; Zhang, Xiaoming (CCNU, Wuhan, Inst. Part. Phys.)
Using a novel observable that relies on the momentum difference of the two most energetic subjets within a jet $\Delta S_{12}$ we study the internal structure of high-energy jets simulated by several Monte Carlo event generators that implement the partonic energy-loss in a dense partonic medium. Based on inclusive jet and di-jet production we demonstrate that $\Delta S_{12}$ is an effective tool to discriminate between different models of jet modifications over a broad kinematic range. [...]

Novel tools and observables for jet physics in heavy-ion collisions
/ Andrews, Harry Arthur (Birmingham U.) ; d'Enterria, David (CERN) ; Apolinario, Liliana (CMAF, Lisbon ; Lisbon, IST) ; Bertens, Redmer Alexander (Tennessee U.) ; Bierlich, Christian (Lund U. ; Bohr Inst.) ; Cacciari, Matteo (Diderot U., Paris ; Paris, LPTHE) ; Chen, Yi (CERN) ; Chien, Yang-Ting (MIT, Cambridge, CTP) ; Mendez, Leticia Cunqueiro (Oak Ridge ; Tennessee U.) ; Deak, Michal (Cracow, INP) et al.
Studies of fully-reconstructed jets in heavy-ion collisions aim at extracting thermodynamical and transport properties of hot and dense QCD matter. Recently, a plethora of new jet substructure observables have been theoretically and experimentally developed that provide novel precise insights on the modifications of the parton radiation pattern induced by a QCD medium. The angular structure of jet quenching within a hybrid strong/weak coupling model
/ Casalderrey-Solana, Jorge (Oxford U., Theor. Phys.) ; Gulhan, Doga Can (CERN) ; Milhano, José Guilherme (LIP, Lisbon ; CERN) ; Pablos, Daniel (Barcelona U. ; ICC, Barcelona U.) ; Rajagopal, Krishna (MIT, Cambridge, CTP)
Building upon the hybrid strong/weak coupling model for jet quenching, we incorporate and study the effects of transverse momentum broadening and medium response of the plasma to jets on a variety of observables. For inclusive jet observables, we find little sensitivity to the strength of broadening. [...]

Medium Recoils and background subtraction in JEWEL
/ Kunnawalkam Elayavalli, Raghav (Rutgers U., Piscataway) ; Zapp, Korinna Christine (Lisbon, CENTRA ; Lisbon, IST ; CERN ; LIP, Lisbon)
Jewel is a fully dynamical event generator for jet evolution in a dense QCD medium, which has been validated for multiple jet and jet-like observables. Jet constituents (partons) undergo collisions with thermal partons from the medium, leading to both elastic and radiative energy loss. [...]
