The dark matter bispectrum from effective viscosity and one-particle irreducible vertices / Floerchinger, Stefan (U. Heidelberg, ITP) ; Garny, Mathias (Munich, Tech. U.) ; Katsis, Aris (Athens U.) ; Tetradis, Nikolaos (Athens U.) ; Wiedemann, Urs Achim (CERN)
Dark matter evolution during the process of cosmological structure formation can be described in terms of a one-particle irreducible effective action at a characteristic scale $k_m$ and a loop expansion below this scale, based on the effective propagators and vertices. We calculate the form of the effective vertices and compute the bispectrum of density perturbations within a one-loop approximation. [...]

Nonlinear evolution of density and flow perturbations on a Bjorken background / Brouzakis, Nikolaos (Athens U.) ; Floerchinger, Stefan (CERN) ; Tetradis, Nikolaos (Athens U. ; CERN) ; Wiedemann, Urs Achim (CERN)
Density perturbations and their dynamic evolution from early to late times can be used for an improved understanding of interesting physical phenomena both in cosmology and in the context of heavy-ion collisions. We discuss the spectrum and bispectrum of these perturbations around a longitudinally expanding fireball after a heavy-ion collision. [...]

Effective description of dark matter as a viscous fluid / Floerchinger, S. (U. Heidelberg, ITP) ; Garny, M. (CERN) ; Tetradis, N. (CERN ; Athens U.) ; Wiedemann, U.A. (CERN)
Treating dark matter at large scales as an effectively viscous fluid provides an improved framework for the calculation of the density and velocity power spectra compared to the standard assumption of an ideal pressureless fluid. We discuss how this framework can be made concrete through an appropriate coarse-graining procedure. [...]

Renormalization-group flow of the effective action of cosmological large-scale structures / Floerchinger, Stefan (U. Heidelberg, ITP) ; Garny, Mathias (Ecole Polytechnique, CPHT ; CERN) ; Tetradis, Nikolaos (Athens U. ; CERN) ; Wiedemann, Urs Achim (CERN)
Following an approach of Matarrese and Pietroni, we derive the functional renormalization group (RG) flow of the effective action of cosmological large-scale structures. Perturbative solutions of this RG flow equation are shown to be consistent with standard cosmological perturbation theory. [...]

Backreaction from inhomogeneous matter fields during large-scale structure formation / Floerchinger, Stefan (U. Heidelberg, ITP) ; Tetradis, Nikolaos (Athens U.) ; Wiedemann, Urs Achim (CERN)
We study how inhomogeneities of the cosmological fluid fields backreact on the homogeneous part of energy density and how they modify the Friedmann equations. In general, backreaction requires to go beyond the pressureless ideal fluid approximation, and this can lead to a reduced growth of cosmological large scale structure. [...]

Accelerating cosmological expansion from shear and bulk viscosity / Floerchinger, Stefan (CERN) ; Tetradis, Nikolaos (Athens U. ; CERN) ; Wiedemann, Urs Achim (CERN)
The dissipation of energy from local velocity perturbations in the cosmological fluid affects the time evolution of spatially averaged fluid dynamic fields and the cosmological solution of Einstein's field equations. We show how this backreaction effect depends on shear and bulk viscosity and other material properties of the dark sector, as well as the spectrum of perturbations. [...]

Few-body hierarchy in non-relativistic functional renormalization group equations and a decoupling theorem / Floerchinger, Stefan (CERN)
For non-relativistic quantum field theory in the few-body limit with instantaneous interactions it is shown within the functional renormalization group formalism that propagators are not renormalized and that the renormalization group equations of one-particle irreducible vertex functions are governed by a hierarchical structure. This hierarchy allows to solve the equations in the n-body sector without knowledge or assumptions about the m-body sectors where m>n..

Large scale structure from viscous dark matter / Blas, Diego (CERN) ; Floerchinger, Stefan (CERN) ; Garny, Mathias (CERN) ; Tetradis, Nikolaos (CERN ; Athens U.) ; Wiedemann, Urs Achim (CERN)
Cosmological perturbations of sufficiently long wavelength admit a fluid dynamic description. We consider modes with wavevectors below a scale $k_m$ for which the dynamics is only mildly non-linear. [...]

Corrections to de Sitter entropy through holography / Tetradis, N. (Athens U. ; CERN)

Viscous dark matter / Blas, Diego (CERN) ; Floerchinger, Stefan (CERN) ; Garny, Mathias (CERN) ; Tetradis, Nikolaos (Athens U.) ; Wiedemann, Urs Achim (CERN)
We discuss two aspects of the scenario in which dark matter possesses (fundamental or effective) viscosity: a) Large shear viscosity can induce the acceleration of the average expansion through the backreaction of fluctuations. b) Treating dark matter at large scales as an effectively viscous fluid provides an improved framework for the calculation of the matter power spectrum.
