Hyperon Polarization along the Beam Direction Relative to the Second and Third Harmonic Event Planes in Isobar Collisions at <math display="inline"><mrow><msqrt><mrow><msub><mrow><mi>s</mi></mrow><mrow><mi>N</mi><mi>N</mi></mrow></msub></mrow></msqrt><mo>=</mo><mn>200</mn><mtext> </mtext><mtext> </mtext><mi>GeV</mi></mrow></math> / STAR Collaboration
The polarization of $\Lambda$ and $\bar{\Lambda}$ hyperons along the beam direction has been measured relative to the second and third harmonic event planes in isobar Ru+Ru and Zr+Zr collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 200 GeV. This is the first experimental evidence of the hyperon polarization by the triangular flow originating from the initial density fluctuations. [...]

Search for the chiral magnetic wave using anisotropic flow of identified particles at energies available at the BNL Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider / STAR Collaboration
The chiral magnetic wave (CMW) has been theorized to propagate in the deconfined nuclear medium formed in high-energy heavy-ion collisions, and to cause a difference in elliptic flow ($v_{2}$) between negatively and positively charged hadrons. Experimental data consistent with the CMW have been reported by the STAR Collaboration at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC), based on the charge asymmetry dependence of the pion $v_{2}$ from Au+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm NN}}$ = 27 to 200 GeV. A novel hadron calorimeter is being developed for future lepton colliding beam detectors. The calorimeter is optimized for the application of Particle Flow Algorithms (PFAs) to the measurement of hadronic jets and features a very finely segmented readout with 1 x 1 cm2 cells. [...]

A new high-speed optical transceiver for data transmission at the LHC experiments / Drake, G (Argonne, HEP) ; Paramonov, A A (Argonne, HEP) ; Stanek, R W (Argonne, HEP) ; Underwood, D G (Argonne, HEP)
We report on results of radiation tests of a new commercial off-the-shelf fiber-optic link as a candidate for the transmission of data from the detector to the counting room for experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The device is manufactured by Molex using CMOS integrated silicon photonics developed by Luxtera. [...]

This paper summarises the mechanical construction andinstallation of the Tile Calorimeter for the ATLASexperiment at the Large Hadron Collider in CERN, Switzerland. The TileCalorimeter is a sampling calorimeter using scintillator as the sensitivedetector and steel as the absorber and covers the central region of the ATLASexperiment up to pseudorapidities ±1.7. Search for tb resonances in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
This Letter presents a search for tb resonances in 1.04/fb$^{-1}$ of LHC proton-proton collision data collected by the ATLAS detector at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV. Events with a lepton, missing transverse momentum, and two jets are selected and the invariant mass of the corresponding final state is reconstructed. [...]

Measurement of the t-channel single top-quark production cross section in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
We report a measurement of the cross section of single top-quark production in the t-channel using 1.04 fb$^{-1}$ of pp collision data at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV recorded with the ATLAS detector at the LHC. Selected events feature one electron or muon, missing transverse momentum, and two or three jets, exactly one of them identified as originating from a b quark. [...]

Measurement of $\tau$ polarization in $W \to \tau\nu$ decays with the ATLAS detector in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 7 TeV / ATLAS Collaboration
In this paper, a measurement of tau polarization in $W \to \tau\nu$ decays is presented. It is measured from the energies of the decay products in hadronic $\tau$ decays with a single final state charged particle. [...]
