The concept of the unified tracking station designed for the proton charge-radius measurement planned at the AMBER (NA66) fixed-target experiment at CERN is presented. Composed of scintillating-fiber hodoscope and silicon-pixel detectors, it aims to provide 30 μrad angular resolution for the measurement of muons at momenta of 100 GeV with a time resolution of 1 ns at a nominal beam rate of 2×10$^6$ particles per second. Intruder configurations in $^{29}$Ne at the transition into the island of inversion: Detailed structure study of $^{28}$Ne
/ Wang, H. (RIKEN (main)) ; Yasuda, M. (Tokyo Inst. Tech.) ; Kondo, Y. (Tokyo Inst. Tech.) ; Nakamura, T. (Tokyo Inst. Tech.) ; Tostevin, J.A. (Tokyo Inst. Tech. ; Surrey U.) ; Ogata, K. (Kyushu U., Fukuoka (main) ; Osaka U., Res. Ctr. Nucl. Phys.) ; Otsuka, T. (CERN ; Nishina Ctr., RIKEN) ; Poves, A. (Madrid, Autonoma U.) ; Shimizu, N. (Tsukuba U.) ; Yoshida, K. (JAEA, Ibaraki) et al.
Detailed $\gamma$-ray spectroscopy of the exotic neon isotope $^{28}$Ne has been performed for the first time using the one-neutron removal reaction from $^{29}$Ne on a liquid hydrogen target at 240~MeV/nucleon. Based on an analysis of parallel momentum distributions, a level scheme with spin-parity assignments has been constructed for $^{28}$Ne and the negative-parity states are identified for the first time. First Accurate Normalization of the $\beta$-delayed $\alpha$ Decay of $^{16}$N and Implications for the $^{12}$C$(\alpha,\gamma)^{16}$O Astrophysical Reaction Rate
/ Kirsebom, O.S. (Aarhus U.) ; Tengblad, O. (CSIC, Madrid) ; Lica, R. (CERN ; Bucharest, IFIN-HH) ; Munch, M. (Aarhus U.) ; Riisager, K. (Aarhus U.) ; Fynbo, H.O.U. (Aarhus U.) ; Borge, M.J.G. (CSIC, Madrid ; CERN) ; Madurga, M. (CERN) ; Marroquin, I. (CSIC, Madrid) ; Andreyev, A.N. (York U., England) et al.
The $^{12}\text{C}(\alpha,\gamma){}^{16}\text{O}$ reaction plays a central role in astrophysics, but its cross section at energies relevant for astrophysical applications is only poorly constrained by laboratory data. The reduced $\alpha$ width, $\gamma_{11}$, of the bound $1^-$ level in $^{16}$O is particularly important to determine the cross section. [...]

The progress within atomic and nuclear physics relies on refining and adding new observables. One of these is the polarization of the nuclear spin, where there is a manifest interest in accessing a wide variety of polarized beams, e.g. [...]

The bound states of (10)Be have been studied by removing single neutrons from $^{11}Be$ nuclei. A 2.8 MeV $u^{–1}$ beam of $^{11}Be$was produced at ISOLDE, CERN and directed on to both proton and deuteron targets inducing one-neutron removal reactions. [...]

Excited states of the neutron-rich nuclei Rb97,99 were populated for the first time using the multistep Coulomb excitation of radioactive beams. Comparisons of the results with particle-rotor model calculations provide clear identification for the ground-state rotational band of Rb97 as being built on the πg9/2 [431] 3/2+ Nilsson-model configuration. Experimental study of the $^{66}$Ni$(d,p)^{67}$Ni one-neutron transfer reaction

The quasi-SU(3) sequence of the positive parity $νg_{9/2}, d_{5/2}, s_{1/2}$ orbitals above the N=40 shell gap are assumed to induce strong quadrupole collectivity in the neutron-rich Fe (Z=26) and Cr (Z=24) isotopes below the nickel region. In this paper the position and strength of these single-particle orbitals are characterized in the neighborhood of $^{68}$Ni (Z=28,N=40) through the $^{66}$Ni($d,p$)$^{67}$Ni one-neutron transfer reaction at 2.95 MeV/nucleon in inverse kinematics, performed at the REX-ISOLDE facility in CERN. The $νg_{9/2} , d_{5/2}, s_{1/2}$ orbitals are assumed to be responsible for the swift onset of collectivity observed in the region below $^{68}$Ni. Especially the single-particle energies and strengths of these orbitals are of importance. [...]

The tilted-foils nuclear-spin polarization method has been evaluated using the REX-ISOLDE linear accelerator at the ISOLDE facility, CERN. A beam of Li-8 delivered with an energy of 300 keV/u traversed through one Mylar foil to degrade the beam energy to 200 keV/u and consequently through 10 thin diamond-like carbon foils to polarize the nuclear spin.
