The complex comprises four accelerators: a 30 GeV Linac, a 1.1 GeV Damping Ring, a Booster capable of achieving energies up to 180 GeV, and a Collider operating at varying energy modes (Z, W, H, and ttbar). [...]

We review recent developments and outstanding questions regarding connecting the top-down UV complete physical framework of string theory with the observed physics of the Standard Model and beyond the Standard Model physics, emphasizing the global nonperturbative framework of F-theory and general lessons from UV physics. Branes and the Swampland / Shiu, Gary (speaker) (University of Wisconsin & HKUST)
Completeness of the spectrum of charged branes in a quantum theory of gravity naturally motivates the question of whether consistency of what lives on the branes can be used to explain some of the Swampland conditions. In this paper we focus on consistency of what lives on string probes, to show some of the theories with N=(1,0) supersymmetry in 10d and 6d, which are otherwise consistent looking, belong to the Swampland. [...]

CEPC Conceptual Design Report: Volume 2 - Physics & Detector / CEPC Study Group Collaboration
The Circular Electron Positron Collider (CEPC) is a large international scientific facility proposed by the Chinese particle physics community to explore the Higgs boson and provide critical tests of the underlying fundamental physics principles of the Standard Model that might reveal new physics. On quantum corrected Kahler potentials in F-theory / Garcia-Etxebarria, Inaki (CERN) ; Hayashi, Hirotaka (Korea Inst. Advanced Study, Seoul) ; Savelli, Raffaele (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Shiu, Gary (Hong Kong U. Sci. Tech. ; Wisconsin U., Madison)
We work out the exact in string coupling and perturbatively exact in \alpha' result for the vector multiplet moduli K\"ahler potential in a specific N=2 compactification of F-theory. The well-known correction cubic in {\alpha}' is absent, but there is a rich structure of corrections at all even orders in \alpha'. [...]

We compute the large scalar four-point correlation functions in general single field inflation models, where the inflaton Lagrangian is an arbitrary function of the inflaton and its first derivative. We find that the leading order trispectra have four different shapes determined by three parameters. [...]

Open String Wavefunctions in Warped Compactifications / Marchesano, Fernando (CERN) ; McGuirk, Paul (Wisconsin U., Madison ; SLAC ; Stanford U., Phys. Dept.) ; Shiu, Gary (CERN ; Wisconsin U., Madison ; SLAC ; Stanford U., Phys. Dept.)
We analyze the wavefunctions for open strings in warped compactifications, and compute the warped Kahler potential for the light modes of a probe D-brane. This analysis not only applies to the dynamics of D-branes in warped backgrounds, but also allows to deduce warping corrections to the closed string Kahler metrics via their couplings to open strings. On Supersymmetric D7-branes in the Warped Deformed Conifold / Chen, Heng-Yu (Wisconsin U., Madison) ; Ouyang, Peter (Wisconsin U., Madison) ; Shiu, Gary (Wisconsin U., Madison ; CERN)
We study the supersymmetric properties of D7-branes in the warped deformed conifold. We consider the $\kappa$-symmetry conditions on D7-branes in this specific warped background, taking into account the background NS-NS 2-form flux. [...]

Systematics of multi-field effects at the end of warped brane inflation / Chen, Heng-Yu (Wisconsin U., Madison) ; Gong, Jinn-Ouk (Wisconsin U., Madison) ; Shiu, Gary (Wisconsin U., Madison ; CERN)
We investigate in the context of brane inflation the possibility of additional light scalar fields generating significant power spectrum and non-Gaussianities at the end of inflation affecting the CMB scale observations. We consider the specific mechanism outlined by Lyth and describe the necessary criteria for it to be potentially important in a warped throat. [...]
