A hybrid deep learning approach to vertexing / Schreiner, Henry Fredrick (speaker) (University of Cincinnati (US))
In the transition to Run 3 in 2021, LHCb will undergo a major luminosity upgrade, going from 1.1 to 5.6 expected visible Primary Vertices (PVs) per event, and will adopt a purely software trigger. This has fueled increased interest in alternative highly-parallel and GPU friendly algorithms for tracking and reconstruction. [...]

Status of HLT1 sequence and path towards 30 MHz / De Cian, Michel (EPFL - Ecole Polytechnique Federale Lausanne (CH)) ; Dziurda, Agnieszka (CERN) ; Gligorov, Vladimir (Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (FR)) ; Hasse, Christoph (Technische Universitaet Dortmund (DE)) ; Hulsbergen, Wouter (Nikhef National institute for subatomic physics (NL)) ; Latham, Thomas Edward (University of Warwick (GB)) ; Ponce, Sebastien (CERN) ; Quagliani, Renato (Université Paris-Saclay (FR)) ; Schreiner, Henry Fredrick (University of Cincinnati (US)) ; Stemmle, Simon Benedikt (Ruprecht Karls Universitaet Heidelberg (DE)) et al.
We present the current status of the HLT1 reconstruction sequence for the LHCb upgrade, both in terms of the number of events which can be processed per second and the achievable physics performance on a selected range of benchmark modes. We present detailed profiling of the various algorithms, describe the bottlenecks, and outline a strategy towards an HLT1 able to process the LHCb upgrade data at 30 MHz
