How beam driven operations optimize ALICE efficiency and safety / Pinazza, Ombretta (CERN ; INFN, Bologna) ; Augustinus, Andre (CERN) ; Bond, Peter M (CERN ; West England U.) ; Chochula, Peter C (CERN) ; Kurepin, Alexander N (CERN ; Moscow, INR) ; Lechman, Mateusz (CERN) ; Rosinsky, Peter (CERN)
ALICE is one of the experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), CERN (Geneva, Switzerland). The ALICE DCS is responsible for the coordination and monitoring of the various detectors and of central systems, for collecting and managing alarms, data and commands. [...]

Centrality dependence of the charged-particle multiplicity density at mid-rapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV / ALICE Collaboration
The centrality dependence of the charged-particle multiplicity density at mid-rapidity in Pb-Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 2.76 TeV is presented. The charged-particle density normalized per participating nucleon pair increases by about a factor 2 from peripheral (70-80%) to central (0-5%) collisions. [...]
