Footprints of the QCD Crossover on Cosmological Gravitational Waves at Pulsar Timing Arrays / Franciolini, Gabriele (Rome U.) ; Racco, Davide (Stanford U., ITP) ; Rompineve, Fabrizio (CERN ; Barcelona, IFAE ; BIST, Barcelona ; Barcelona, Autonoma U.)
Pulsar Timing Arrays (PTAs) have reported evidence for a stochastic gravitational wave (GW) background at nHz frequencies, possibly originating in the early Universe. We show that the spectral shape of the low-frequency (causality) tail of GW signals sourced at temperatures around $T\gtrsim 1$ GeV is distinctively affected by confinement of strong interactions (QCD), due to the corresponding sharp decrease in the number of relativistic species. On dark matter interactions with the Standard Model through an anomalous $Z′$ / Ismail, Ahmed (Pittsburgh U.) ; Katz, Andrey (CERN ; Geneva U., CAP) ; Racco, Davide (Geneva U., CAP ; Geneva U.)
We study electroweak scale Dark Matter (DM) whose interactions with baryonic matter are mediated by a heavy anomalous $Z'$. We emphasize that when the DM is a Majorana particle, its low-velocity annihilations are dominated by loop suppressed annihilations into the gauge bosons, rather than by p-wave or chirally suppressed annihilations into the SM fermions. Complementarity of DM Searches in a Consistent Simplified Model: the Case of Z' / Jacques, Thomas (SISSA, Trieste ; INFN, Trieste) ; Katz, Andrey (CERN ; Geneva U., CAP ; Geneva U., Dept. Theor. Phys.) ; Morgante, Enrico (Geneva U., CAP ; Geneva U., Dept. Theor. Phys.) ; Racco, Davide (Geneva U., CAP ; Geneva U., Dept. Theor. Phys.) ; Rameez, Mohamed (Geneva U.) ; Riotto, Antonio (Geneva U., CAP ; Geneva U., Dept. Theor. Phys.)
We analyze the constraints from direct and indirect detection on fermionic Majorana Dark Matter (DM). Because the interaction with the Standard Model (SM) particles is spin-dependent, a priori the constraints that one gets from neutrino telescopes, the LHC and direct detection experiments are comparable. Dark Matter Benchmark Models for Early LHC Run-2 Searches: Report of the ATLAS/CMS Dark Matter Forum / Abercrombie, Daniel (MIT) ; Akchurin, Nural (Texas Tech.) ; Akilli, Ece (Geneva U.) ; Alcaraz Maestre, Juan (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Allen, Brandon (MIT) ; Alvarez Gonzalez, Barbara (CERN) ; Andrea, Jeremy (Strasbourg, IPHC) ; Arbey, Alexandre (CERN ; Lyon Observ.) ; Azuelos, Georges (TRIUMF) ; Azzi, Patrizia (INFN, Padua) et al.
This document is the final report of the ATLAS-CMS Dark Matter Forum, a forum organized by the ATLAS and CMS collaborations with the participation of experts on theories of Dark Matter, to select a minimal basis set of dark matter simplified models that should support the design of the early LHC Run-2 searches. A prioritized, compact set of benchmark models is proposed, accompanied by studies of the parameter space of these models and a repository of generator implementations. [...]

Simplified Models for Dark Matter Searches at the LHC / Abdallah, Jalal (Taiwan, Inst. Phys.) ; Araujo, Henrique (Imperial Coll., London) ; Arbey, Alexandre (Lyon U. ; Lyon, Ecole Normale Superieure ; CERN) ; Ashkenazi, Adi (Tel Aviv U.) ; Belyaev, Alexander (Southampton U.) ; Berger, Joshua (SLAC) ; Boehm, Celine (Durham U., IPPP) ; Boveia, Antonio (CERN) ; Brennan, Amelia (Melbourne U.) ; Brooke, Jim (Bristol U.) et al.
This document outlines a set of simplified models for dark matter and its interactions with Standard Model particles. It is intended to summarize the main characteristics that these simplified models have when applied to dark matter searches at the LHC, and to provide a number of useful expressions for reference. Robust collider limits on heavy-mediator Dark Matter / Racco, Davide (Geneva U., Dept. Theor. Phys. ; Geneva U., CAP) ; Wulzer, Andrea (INFN, Padua ; Padua U.) ; Zwirner, Fabio (INFN, Padua ; Padua U. ; CERN)
We discuss how to consistently use Effective Field Theories (EFTs) to set universal bounds on heavy-mediator Dark Matter at colliders, without prejudice on the model underlying a given effective interaction. We illustrate the method for a Majorana fermion, universally coupled to the Standard Model quarks via a dimension-6 axial-axial four-fermion operator. [...]
