The PSI Positron Production experiment, known as $\text{P}^{3}$ or $\textit{P-cubed}$, is a proof-of-principle positron source and capture system that can greatly improve the state-of-the-art positron yield. The $\text{P}^{3}$ project is led by the Paul Scherrer Institute in Switzerland, and addresses the long-standing challenge faced by conventional injector facilities to generate, capture, and damp the emittance of high-current positron beam, which is a major limiting factor for the feasibility of future electron-positron colliders. An X-ray free-electron laser with a highly configurable undulator and integrated chicanes for tailored pulse properties / Prat, Eduard (PSI, Villigen) ; Haddad, Andre Al (PSI, Villigen) ; Arrell, Christopher (PSI, Villigen) ; Augustin, Sven (PSI, Villigen) ; Boll, Marco (PSI, Villigen) ; Bostedt, Christoph (PSI, Villigen ; Ecole Polytechnique, Lausanne) ; Calvi, Marco (PSI, Villigen) ; Cavalieri, Adrian L (PSI, Villigen ; Bern U.) ; Craievich, Paolo (PSI, Villigen) ; Dax, Andreas (PSI, Villigen) et al.
X-ray free-electron lasers (FELs) are state-of-the-art scientific tools capable to study matter on the scale of atomic processes. Since the initial operation of X-ray FELs more than a decade ago, several facilities with upgraded performance have been put in operation. [...]

The PolariX-TDS Project: Bead-Pull Measurements and High-Power Test on the Prototype / Craievich, Paolo (PSI, Villigen) ; Aßmann, Ralph (DESY) ; Bopp, Markus (PSI, Villigen) ; Braun, Hans-Heinrich (PSI, Villigen) ; Catalán Lasheras, Nuria (CERN) ; Christie, Florian (DESY) ; Citterio, Alessandro (PSI, Villigen) ; D'Arcy, Richard (DESY) ; Dorda, Ulrich (DESY) ; Foese, Manon (DESY) et al.
A collaboration between DESY, PSI and CERN has been established to develop and build an advanced modular X- band transverse deflection structure (TDS) system with the new feature of providing variable polarization of the deflecting force. The prototype of the novel X-band TDS, the Polarizable X-band (PolariX) TDS, was fabricated at PSI following the high-precision tuning-free production process developed for the C-band Linac of the SwissFEL project. First Experimental Results with the CLIC Drive Beam Phase Feedforward Prototype at the CLIC Test Facility CTF3 / Christian, Glenn B (JAI, UK) ; Andersson, Alexandra (CERN) ; Burrows, Philip (JAI, UK ; Oxford U.) ; Corsini, Roberto (CERN) ; Ghigo, Andrea (LNF, Dafne Light) ; Marcellini, Fabio (LNF, Dafne Light) ; Perry, Colin (JAI, UK ; Oxford U.) ; Roberts, Jack (CERN ; JAI, UK) ; Skowroński, Piotr (CERN)
The two-beam acceleration scheme envisaged for CLIC will require a high degree of phase stability between two beams at the drive beam decelerator sections, to allow efficient acceleration of the main beam. There will be up to 48 such decelerator sections for the full 3 TeV design, and each decelerator section will be instrumented with a feed-forward system to correct the drive beam phase to a precision of 0.2 degrees at 12 GHz relative to the main beam, using a kicker system around a four-bend chicane. Demonstration of CLIC Level Phase Stability using a High Bandwidth, Low Latency Drive Beam Phase Feedforward System at the CLIC Test Facility CTF3 / Roberts, Jack (Oxford U., JAI ; CERN) ; Andersson, Alexandra (CERN) ; Burrows, Philip (Oxford U., JAI) ; Christian, Glenn (Oxford U., JAI) ; Corsini, Roberto (CERN) ; Ghigo, Andrea (Frascati) ; Marcellini, Fabio (Frascati) ; Perry, Colin (Oxford U., JAI) ; Skowroński, Piotr (CERN)
The CLIC acceleration scheme, in which the RF power used to accelerate the main high energy beam is extracted from a second high intensity but low energy beam, places strict requirements on the phase stability of the power producing drive beam. To limit luminosity loss caused by energy jitter leading to emittance growth in the final focus to below 1%, 0.2 degrees of 12 GHz, or 50 fs, drive beam phase stability is needed. [...]

First Results From Beam Tests of the CLIC Drive Beam Phase Feedforward Prototype at CTF3 / Roberts, Jack (Oxford U., JAI) ; Andersson, Alexandra (CERN) ; Burrows, Philip (Oxford U., JAI) ; Christian, Glenn (Oxford U., JAI) ; Corsini, Roberto (CERN) ; Ghigo, Andrea (Frascati) ; Marcellini, Fabio (Frascati) ; Perry, Colin (Oxford U., JAI) ; Skowroński, Piotr (CERN)
In the CLIC two beam acceleration scheme 100 MV/m normal conducting cavities are fed with RF power extracted from a secondary high power but low energy drive beam. To ensure the efficiency and luminosity performance of CLIC the phase synchronisation between the high energy main beam and the drive beam must be maintained to within 0.2 degrees of 12 GHz. [...]

Design, Hardware Tests and First Results From the CLIC Drive Beam Phase Feed-Forward Prototype at CTF3 / Roberts, Jack (CERN ; Oxford U., JAI) ; Andersson, Alexandra (CERN) ; Skowronski, Piotr K (CERN) ; Burrows, Philip N (Oxford U., JAI) ; Christian, Glenn B (Oxford U., JAI) ; Perry, Colin (Oxford U., JAI) ; Ghigo, Andrea (INFN, LNS) ; Marcellini, Fabio (INFN, LNS)
In the CLIC two beam acceleration concept the phase synchronisation between the main beam and the RF power extracted from the drive beam must be maintained to within 0.2 degrees of 12 GHz. A drive beam phase feed-forward system with bandwidth above 17.5 MHz is required to reduce the drive beam phase jitter to this level. [...]
