Irradiation test for BETSEE at CSNS for ATLAS ITk strip upgrade / ATLAS Collaboration
ITk strip module is the basic unit in ITk strip upgrade, to perform an irradiation test on a strip module using a beam size that is not too large, the collaboration develop a smaller board called Board for Evaluation of Triple chip Single Event Effect (BETSEE).\ This paper will introduce the result for the BETSEE test with all latest version of ASICs using proton beam at China Spallation Neutron Source.\ The TID effect were monitored because of the high flux in CSNS..

Prototype measurement results in a 65 nm technology and TCAD simulations towards more radiation tolerant monolithic pixel sensors / Lemoine, C (CERN ; Strasbourg, IPHC) ; Aglieri Rinella, G (CERN) ; Baudot, J (Strasbourg, IPHC) ; Borghello, G (CERN) ; Carnesecchi, F (CERN) ; Hillemanns, H (CERN) ; Kluge, A (CERN) ; Kucharska, G (CERN) ; Leitao, P V (CERN) ; Mager, M (CERN) et al.
Early measurements on monolithic pixel sensor prototypes in the TPSCo 65 nm technology indicate a different response and radiation tolerance (up to5×10$^{15}$ 1 MeV n$_{eq}$ cm) for different sensor layout and process variants, illustrating the importance of layout and process in the path towards increased sensor radiation tolerance. Using these measurement results, TCAD simulations provide more insight to link the macroscopic behaviour of specific sensor variants to the details of its structure. [...]

The Digital Pixel Test Structure (DPTS) is a monolithic active pixel sensor prototype chip designed to explore the TPSCo 65 nm ISC process in the framework of the CERN-EP R&D; on monolithic sensors and the ALICE ITS3 upgrade. It features a 32 × 32 binary pixel matrix at 15 μm pitch with event-driven readout, with GHz range time-encoded digital signals including Time-Over-Threshold. [...]

Methodology, Characterisation and Results from the Prototype Beam Loss Monitoring ASIC at CERN / Martina, Francesco (CERN ; Liverpool U. ; Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. The characterisation of novel beam loss monitoring front-end converters, based on radiation-hardened application-specific integrated circuits (ASIC), is undergoing at CERN. An effective performance analysis of the newly developed ASICs plays a key role in their candidacy for the future installation in the HL-LHC complex. [...]

A Starry Byte — proton beam measurements of single event upsets and other radiation effects in ABCStar ASIC Versions 0 and 1 for the ITk strip tracker / Basso, M.J. Single Event Effects (SEEs) - predominately bit-flips in electronics caused by particle interactions - are a major concern for ASICs operated in high radiation environments such as ABCStar ASICs, which are designed to be used in the future ATLAS ITk strip tracker. The chip design is therefore optimised to protect it from SEEs by implementing triplication techniques such as Triple Modular Redundancy (TMR). [...]

A Systematic Design Methodology for Optimization of Sigma-Delta Modulators Based on an Evolutionary Algorithm / de Melo, Joao L A (Nova U., Lisboa) ; Pereira, Nuno (Nova U., Lisboa) ; Leitao, Pedro V (Nova U., Lisboa) ; Paulino, Nuno (Nova U., Lisboa) ; Goes, Joao (CERN)
In the design of sigma-delta modulators ($\sum \Delta$Ms), different variables need to be optimized together in order to maximize the performance. This design task has the added difficulty of dealing with the non-linear behavior of the quantizer. Although a linearized model of the quantizer can be used, this may result in significant discrepancies between the predicted and actual behavior of the $\sum \Delta$M. [...]
