Heavy ion charge exchange reactions and the link with beta decay processes
/ Colonna, M. (INFN, LNS) ; Bellone, J.I. (INFN, LNS ; Catania U.) ; Burrello, S. (INFN, LNS) ; Lay, J-A (Seville U. ; INFN, LNS) ; Lenske, H. (Giessen U. ; INFN, LNS)
Within the DWBA framework, we develop a theoretical description of single and double heavy ion charge exchange (CE) reactions. We show that absorption effects are particularly important for heavy ion reactions, leading to a noticeable reduction of the CE cross sections. [...]

One-proton removal reactions of 936 MeV/u 8 B have been studied with carbon and lead as breakup targets. Using the FRS at GSI, the longitudinal momentum distributions of the 7 Be fragments and the one-proton removal cross section of 8 B were measured [...]

Bound States in the Continuum in Nuclear and Hadron Physics
/ Lenske, H (Giessen U. ; Darmstadt, GSI) ; Orrigo, S E A (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Cao, Xu (Lanzhou, Inst. Modern Phys.)
The population of bound states in the continuum and their spectral properties are studied on the nuclear and hadronic scale. The theoretical approach is presented and realizations in nuclear and charmonium spectroscopy are dis- cussed. [...]

Potential and limitations of nucleon transfer experiments with radioactive beams at REX-ISOLDE ; rev. version

As a tool for studying the structure of nuclei far off stability the technique of gamma-ray spectroscopy after low-energy single-nucleon transfer reactions with radioactive nuclear beams in inverse kinematics was investigated. Modules of the MINIBALL germanium array and a thin position-sensitive parallel plate avalanche counter (PPAC) to be employed in future experiments at REX-ISOLDE were used in a test experiment performed with a stable 36S beam on deuteron and 9Be targets.
