Beam Performance with the LHC Injectors Upgrade / zannini, C (CERN) ; Wegner, R (CERN) ; Vollinger, C (CERN) ; Veness, R (CERN) ; Velotti, F (CERN) ; Sullivan, M (CERN) ; Steerenberg, R (CERN) ; Spierer, A (CERN) ; Skowronski, P (CERN) ; Sito, L (CERN) et al.
The LHC Injectors Upgrade (LIU) project was put in place between 2010 and 2021 to increase the intensity and brightness in the LHC injectors to match the challenging requirements of the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) project, while ensuring reliable operation of the injectors complex up to the end of the HL-LHC era (ca. 2040). The PSB Operational Scenario with Longitudinal Painting Injection in the Post-LIU Era / Forte, Vincenzo (CERN) ; Albright, Simon (CERN) ; Angoletta, Maria Elena (CERN) ; Baudrenghien, Philippe (CERN) ; Benedetto, Elena (CERN) ; Blas, Alfred (CERN) ; Bracco, Chiara (CERN) ; Carli, Christian (CERN) ; Findlay, Alan (CERN) ; Garoby, Roland (CERN) et al.
Longitudinal painting has been presented as an elegant technique to fill the longitudinal phase space at injection to the CERN PSB once it is connected with the new Linac4. Painting brings several advantages related to a more controlled longitudinal filamentation, lower peak line density and beating reduction, resulting in a smaller space-charge tune spread. [...]

Neutrino factory proton driver and target design / Garoby, Roland (CERN) ; Densham, Chris (Rutherford) ; Thomason, John (Rutherford) ; Davenne, Tristan (Rutherford) ; Caretta, Ottone (Rutherford) ; Back, John J (Warwick U.)
Neutrinos are very elusive particles belonging to the lepton family. They exist in different types corresponding to the different charged leptons, namely electrons, muons and taus. [...]

Upgrades of the RF Systems in the LHC Injector Complex / Damerau, Heiko (CERN) ; Angoletta, Maria Elena (CERN) ; Argyropoulos, Theodoros (CERN) ; Baudrenghien, Philippe (CERN) ; Blas, Alfred (CERN) ; Bohl, Thomas (CERN) ; Butterworth, Andrew (CERN) ; Findlay, Alan (CERN) ; Garoby, Roland (CERN) ; Gilardoni, Simone (CERN) et al.
In the framework of the LHC Injector Upgrade (LIU) project the radio-frequency (RF) systems of the synchrotrons in the LHC injector chain will undergo significant improvements to reach the high beam intensity and quality required by the High-Luminosity (HL) LHC. Following the recent upgrade of the longitudinal beam control system in the PS Booster (PSB), tests with Finemet cavities are being performed in view of a complete replacement of the existing RF systems in the PSB by ones based on this technology. The High Luminosity Challenge: Potential and Limitations of High-Intensity High-Brightness Beams in the LHC and its Injectors / De Maria, Riccardo (CERN) ; Arduini, Gianluigi (CERN) ; Banfi, Danilo (CERN) ; Barranco, Javier (CERN) ; Bartosik, Hannes (CERN) ; Benedetto, Elena (CERN) ; Bruce, Roderik (CERN) ; Brüning, Oliver (CERN) ; Calaga, Rama (CERN) ; Cerutti, Francesco (CERN) et al.
High-intensity and high-brightness beams are key ingredients to maximize the integrated luminosity of the LHC and exploit its full potential. This contribution will describe the optimization of the beam and machine parameters to maximize the integrated luminosity for the LHC experiments, by taking into account the expected intensity and brightness reach of the LHC and its injector chain and the capabilities of the detectors for the next run and foreseen upgrade scenarios..
