QED effects in inclusive semi-leptonic $B$ decays / Bigi, Dante (CERN ; Turin U. ; Munich, Max Planck Inst. ; Munich, Tech. U.) ; Bordone, Marzia (CERN) ; Gambino, Paolo (Turin U. ; Munich, Max Planck Inst. ; Munich, Tech. U.) ; Haisch, Ulrich (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Piccione, Andrea (Turin U.)
We analyse in detail the QED corrections to the total decay width and the moments of the electron energy spectrum of the inclusive semi-leptonic $B \to X_c e \nu$ decay. Our calculation includes short-distance electroweak corrections, the complete ${\cal O}(\alpha)$ partonic terms and leading-logarithmic QED effects up to ${\cal O}(\Lambda^3_{\rm QCD}/m_b^3)$. [...]

The Vcb puzzle -- Flavour TH Institute / Gambino, Paolo (speaker)
The long-lasting discrepancy between the inclusive and exclusive determinations of the CKM element Vcb is an unlikely signal of New Physics, but it hampers significantly the precision program in flavour physics. I will review our understanding of inclusive and exclusive semileptonic b to charm decays and discuss recent theoretical and experimental progress, as well as future prospects..

50 Years of Quantum Chromodynamics / Gross, Franz (Jefferson Lab ; William-Mary Coll.) ; Klempt, Eberhard (Bonn U., HISKP) ; Brodsky, Stanley J. (SLAC) ; Buras, Andrzej J. (Carnegie Mellon U.) ; Orginos, Kostas (Jefferson Lab ; William-Mary Coll.) ; Strickland, Michael (Kent State U.) et al.
This paper presents a comprehensive review of both the theory and experimental successes of Quantum Chromodynamics, starting with its emergence as a well defined theory in 1972-73 and following developments and results up to the present day. Topics include a review of the earliest theoretical and experimental foundations; the fundamental constants of QCD; an introductory discussion of lattice QCD, the only known method for obtaining exact predictions from QCD; methods for approximating QCD, with special focus on effective field theories; QCD under extreme conditions; measurements and predictions of meson and baryon states; a special discussion of the structure of the nucleon; techniques for study of QCD at high energy, including treatment of jets and showers; measurements at colliders; weak decays and quark mixing; and a section on the future, which discusses new experimental facilities or upgrades currently funded. The semileptonic $B_s$ and $\Lambda_b$ widths / Bordone, Marzia (CERN) ; Gambino, Paolo (Turin U.)
We present estimates of the semileptonic widths of the $B_s$ and $\Lambda_b$ hadrons. We employ the latest fit to the $B$ inclusive semileptonic data, the heavy quark expansion and lattice QCD results. [...]

Challenges in Semileptonic B Decays / Gambino, P. (Turin U. ; INFN, Turin) ; Kronfeld, A.S. (Fermilab) ; Rotondo, M. (Frascati) ; Schwanda, C. (Vienna, OAW) ; Bernlochner, F. (Bonn U.) ; Bharucha, A. (Marseille, CPT) ; Bozzi, C. (INFN, Ferrara) ; Calvi, M. (Milan Bicocca U. ; INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Cao, L. (Bonn U.) ; Ciezarek, G. (CERN) et al.
Two of the elements of the Cabibbo-Kobayashi-Maskawa quark mixing matrix, $|V_{ub}|$ and $|V_{cb}|$, are extracted from semileptonic B decays. The results of the B factories, analysed in the light of the most recent theoretical calculations, remain puzzling, because for both $|V_{ub}|$ and $|V_{cb}|$ the exclusive and inclusive determinations are in clear tension. Motivated by the success of the flavour physics programme carried out over the last decade at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), we characterize in detail the physics potential of its High-Luminosity and High-Energy upgrades in this domain of physics. We document the extraordinary breadth of the HL/HE-LHC programme enabled by a putative Upgrade II of the dedicated flavour physics experiment LHCb and the evolution of the established flavour physics role of the ATLAS and CMS general purpose experiments. Bern, AEC ; Bern U.) ; Haisch, U. (CERN ; Oxford U., Theor. Phys.) et al.
We perform an updated analysis of the inclusive weak radiative B-meson decays in the standard model, incorporating all our results for the O(alpha_s^2) and lower-order perturbative corrections that have been calculated after 2006. New estimates of non-perturbative effects are taken into account, too. [...]
