We compute the vector, scalar, and tensor form factors for the $B\to \pi$, $B\to K$, and $B_s\to K$ amplitudes, which are needed to describe semileptonic $B$-meson decay rates for both the charged and neutral current cases. We use the highly improved staggered quark (HISQ) action for the sea and light valence quarks. [...]

We review the present status of the Standard Model calculation of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. This is performed in a perturbative expansion in the fine-structure constant $\alpha$ and is broken down into pure QED, electroweak, and hadronic contributions. [...]

Report from Working Group 4 : Opportunities in Flavour Physics at the HL-LHC and HE-LHC
/ Cerri, A. (Sussex U.) ; Gligorov, V.V. (Paris U., VI-VII) ; Malvezzi, S. (INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Martin Camalich, J. (Laguna U., Tenerife ; IAC, La Laguna) ; Zupan, J. (Cincinnati U.) ; Akar, S. Motivated by the success of the flavour physics programme carried out over the last decade at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), we characterize in detail the physics potential of its High-Luminosity and High-Energy upgrades in this domain of physics. We document the extraordinary breadth of the HL/HE-LHC programme enabled by a putative Upgrade II of the dedicated flavour physics experiment LHCb and the evolution of the established flavour physics role of the ATLAS and CMS general purpose experiments. Theoretical progress on the V_us determination from tau decays
/ Gamiz, Elvira (Illinois U., Urbana) ; Jamin, Matthias (ICREA, Barcelona ; Barcelona, IFAE) ; Pich, Antonio (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Prades, Joaquim (CERN ; CAFPE, Granada ; Granada U., Theor. Phys. Astrophys.) ; Schwab, Felix (Barcelona, IFAE)
A very precise determination of V_us can be obtained from the semi-inclusive hadronic decay width of the tau lepton into final states with strangeness. The ratio of the Cabibbo-suppressed and Cabibbo-allowed tau decay widths directly measures (V_us/V_ud)^2, up to very small SU(3)-breaking corrections which can be theoretically estimated with the needed accuracy. $|V_us|$ and $m_s$ from hadronic tau decays
/ Gamiz, Elvira (Illinois U., Urbana) ; Jamin, Matthias (ICREA, Barcelona ; Barcelona, IFAE) ; Pich, Antonio (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Prades, Joaquim (CERN) ; Schwab, Felix (Barcelona, IFAE)
Recent progress in the determination of |V_us| employing strange hadronic tau-decay data are reported. This includes using the recent OPAL update of the strange spectral function, as well as augmenting the dimension-two perturbative contribution with the recently calculated order alpha_s^3 term on the theory side. Measuring the a0-a2 pion scattering lengths through $K \to 3 \pi$ decays
/ Scimemi, Ignazio (Valencia U., IFIC) ; Gamiz, Elvira (Illinois U., Urbana) ; Prades, Joaquim (CERN)
We discuss the recent Cabibbo's proposal to measure the pion-pion scattering lengths combination a0-a2 from the cusp effect in the pi0-pi0 energy spectrum at threshold for K+ to (pi0 pi0 pi+) and KL to (pi0 pi0 pi0). We estimate the theoretical uncertainty of the a0-a2 determination at NLO in our approach and obtain that it is not smaller than 5% for K+ to (pi0 pi0 pi+). [...]

|V(us)| from strange hadronic tau data

We report on recent work to determine the CKM matrix element |V_{us}| using strange hadronic \tau decay data. We use the recent OPAL update of the strange spectral function, while on the theory side we update the dimension-two perturbative contribution including the recently calculated \alpha_s^3 terms.
