GridPP DIRAC: Supporting non-LHC VOs on LHC centric resources / Bauer, D (Imperial Coll., London) ; Fayer, S (Imperial Coll., London)
To allow non-LHC communities access to the primarily LHC dominated resources of the grid, the GridPP consortium in the UK maintains a multi-VO DIRAC service for this user-base. After an extensive testing phase, this service has been in production for the last two years and has been fully integrated into the user communities’ workflows. [...]

The Diverse use of Clouds by CMS / Andronis, Anastasios (Ioannina U. ; CERN) ; Bauer, Daniela (Imperial Coll., London) ; Chaze, Olivier (CERN) ; Colling, David (Imperial Coll., London) ; Dobson, Marc (CERN) ; Fayer, Simon (Imperial Coll., London) ; Girone, Maria (CERN) ; Grandi, Claudio (INFN, Bologna) ; Huffman, Adam (Imperial Coll., London) ; Hufnagel, Dirk (Fermilab) et al.
The resources CMS is using are increasingly being offered as clouds. In Run 2 of the LHC the majority of CMS CERN resources, both in Meyrin and at the Wigner Computing Centre, will be presented as cloud resources on which CMS will have to build its own infrastructure. [...]

A New Boson with a Mass of 125 GeV Observed with the CMS Experiment at the Large Hadron Collider / CMS Collaboration
The Higgs boson was postulated nearly five decades ago within the framework of the standard model of particle physics and has been the subject of numerous searches at accelerators around the world. Its discovery would verify the existence of a complex scalar field thought to give mass to three of the carriers of the electroweak force—the W+, W–, and Z0 bosons—as well as to the fundamental quarks and leptons. [...]

Observation of a new boson at a mass of 125 GeV with the CMS experiment at the LHC / CMS Collaboration
Results are presented from searches for the standard model Higgs boson in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$=7 and 8 TeV in the CMS experiment at the LHC, using data samples corresponding to integrated luminosities of up to 5.1 inverse femtobarns at 7 TeV and 5.3 inverse femtobarns at 8 TeV. The search is performed in five decay modes: $\gamma\gamma$, ZZ, WW, $\tau^+ \tau^-$, and $b\bar{b}$. [...]

Flavor Physics in the Quark Sector / Antonelli, Mario (Frascati) ; Asner, David Mark (Carleton U.) ; Bauer, D. (Imperial Coll., London) ; Becher, Thomas G. (Fermilab) ; Beneke, M. (Aachen, Tech. Hochsch.) ; Bevan, Adrian John (Queen Mary, U. of London) ; Blanke, Monika (Munich, Max Planck Inst. ; Munich, Tech. U.) ; Bloise, C. (Frascati) ; Bona, Marcella (CERN) ; Bondar, Alexander E. (Novosibirsk, IYF) et al.
One of the major challenges of particle physics has been to gain an in-depth understanding of the role of quark flavor and measurements and theoretical interpretations of their results have advanced tremendously: apart from masses and quantum numbers of flavor particles, there now exist detailed measurements of the characteristics of their interactions allowing stringent tests of Standard Model predictions. Among the most interesting phenomena of flavor physics is the violation of the CP symmetry that has been subtle and difficult to explore. [...]
