The Shield Biggerbetterfasterstronger by Jack Kirby

Please embiggen the first image.  It's the only onea these that wasn't up in the wayback, and it was worth the wait, in my opine.  As Al Jarreau sang, "wait a little while and weather what ya hafta/ give it the time and it will come to you/ as soon as you no longer try, you're gonna turn and find it stand'n by your side/ don't forget it, if you let it, it'll come to you."  Actually not the verses, just the way I choose to hear that incredible 24-octave-voice singing it

Colorful Frankenstein by Berni Wrightson

This whole post starts with me find'n out Kenneth Smith had colored the iconic cover from the fanzine Scream Door #1 (the soundtrack  from my youth would have to include, "Don't let the screen door slam!"  Bang!).  Berni's Frankenstein will always be black'n white (the illustrated novel is poetic genius), but this colorful stuff is che great

Bucky, Pete, and Red by Barry Smith

Ohmyheck!  Talk about being so broke I can't even pay attention, how about this amazeballs miss?  So, apparently, Roy Thomas develop'n a whole new trio (Bucky, Quicksilver, and Red Raven) and getting it drawn by the new Brit artist is FROWNED UPON in this establishment (Marvel), but, at least Roy and Barry did Conan shortly after

Winged Death on Venus Splash by Wally Wood

23-year-old Wally rocked this splash, methinks, but it was just a foreshadow of two years later at EC

Sword of the Atom #4 Cover by Gil Kane

Onea the joys of this long-time comic art jazzfest is as I keep riff'n on what I love, I keep see'n what I've forgotten and/or assumed we already looked at.  Here's a prime example:  I've put up Sword of the Atom Special #2 cover several times as I dig it so much, but this other cover is che great as well

From Mongo To Mars by Bob Kline

Third image is the only new one on here (and it could be jiv'n me, too*), the back cover of Hot Stuf' #4.  Don't know if HS was a fanzine or just a comic (definitely Harvey's HS is a kid's comic), but irregardless, Kline was a fanzine artist.  He, along with Fujitake and Fantucchio and Art Cooper and Ned Young make the fistful I call The Fanzine Fab Five
*From the classic blues verse "Nobody loves me but my momma, and she could be jiv'n me, too"
