Diamondback Mason 29er

This is a 17" (Medium) Diamondback Mason 29" hardtail; I've built it up from the frame to be a great starter bike (without breaking the bank) or high-school racer.  It's a slack geometry that can be thrown around on the dirt track or raced at the bike park.  You can also run 27.5"+ size tires (I've run 2.8's).

Schwinn Straight-Six

This is one of the most rare bikes you'll see -- especially built as it is. This is my custom-made 2000 Schwinn Straight Six, extra-small (14" center-to-top). I built this for my wife (5'1"), but recently found an XS Niner, and there's no need for two bikes that never get ridden. ;-)

If you're unaware of what the Straight 6 was: it was designed by Mert Lawwill, in partnership with Yeti, back in the late 90's. Enough said.

Then you have the fork; a Maverick DUC 32. This was designed by Paul Turner, the co-founder of Rock Shox (as opposed to Dave Turner, the Turner Bikes guy). This is a cult-brand and a cult-fork; I love them. They're incredibly light, inverted, and 150mm of smooth (by 2005 standards) adjustable and lock-able travel.

Then you have the wheels; early-era Reynolds carbons on DT Swiss 240s and Bontrager hubs.

Throw in the rest (modern drivetrain, XT brakes, etc.) and you have a piece of history modified for current/modern riding. And before you poo-poo the 26", realize that finding anything modern to fit a 5'1" female is pretty much impossible. I've put 27.5's onto our 14" XS Niner Jet 9 RDO and it's still too big for my wife. The reality is, at that height, you either go 26" -- or 24". Take your pick!

So, the highlights:

- 14" (Extra-Small) 2000 Schwinn Straight 6 aluminum frame
- 2005 Maverick DUC 32 front fork
- Rock Shox Super-Deluxe rear coil shock
- Reynolds Carbon 26" wheels on DT Swiss 240s rear hub (Bontrager proprietary front hub)
- Shimano XT 1x11 rear derailleur
- Shimano XT 1x11 rear shifter
- Sram XO carbon integrated crankset
- Shimano XT hydraulic disc brakes
- Easton riserbar
- Shimano XT Ice-Tech rotors (not the Hope rotors pictured)
- Pedals not included
