Parkinson an successful Ayurvedic Management

Kampavata (Parkinson’s disease) is a progressive neurodegenerative disorder. The disease affects approximately 2 out of 1000 people, and most often develops after age of fifty, the clinical course is chronic and progressive with severe disability attained after approximately ten years.
According to Ayurveda, Kampavata is a Nanatmaja disorder of Vata. In time of Caraka and Susruta cluster of symptoms like Kampa (tremor), Stambha (rigidity), Chestasanga (bradykinesia and akinesia), Vakvikriti (disturbance in speech) etc were described in different contexts, but they were not clubbed as part of one disease. As a separate clinical entity of Kampavata was first narrated by Acaraya Madhavakara under the name of “Vepathu”. However, it was the Basvarajiyam who for the first time
gave an unabigous description by explaining the clinical picture of Kampavata as and all these clinical features are similar to that of Parkinson’s disease.

In modern medical science, the goal of treatment for this disease is to alleviate symptoms that interfere with the patients activities of daily living and to prevent or limit its complication as Parkinson’s disease is a progressive disease leading to crippling of the patients. Treatment for Parkinson’s disease is dopamine replacement therapy, Other drugs like anticholinergic drug, Dopamine agonists, COMT inhibitors are used but as disease progresses these drugs slowly escalated. Further these drugs having undesirable side effects. Some new stereostatic surgical methods are also employed but having great risk and there is chance of failure. So Parkinson’s disease remained unabated at the face of scientific society.
Thus there is a need for effective, rejunenative therapy devoid of any side effect.

In Ayurveda Kapikacchu is having Balya, Brimhanaha, Vrishya, and Vatahara properties and is a natural source of L-dopa. So keeping in views of the degenerative nature of the Kampavata Kapikacchu is given in purified form and under strict medical supervision has greater patient symptom improvement along with Panchakarma therapies which aims at controlling Vata and checking other clinical conditions associated with the disease.

Here at Ayurvedic Remedies we are progressively giving successful outcomes to parkinson patients during course of medication and therapies which include Panchakarma therapies like Basti Chikitsa, Abhyanga, Sushka Sweda, Pizhichil, Navarakhizhi, Shirodhara, Shirobasti along with acupuncture therapies.

Our patients mostly respond with in first month of medication and therapies and an outcome of approx 90% results in all the criteria in 8-10 month of drug regime.

Uterine Fibroid - A Success Story

Fibroid of Uterus an Ayurvedic approach to complete cure

Fibroids are the most common benign tumors in females and typically found during the middle and later reproductive years. While most fibroids are asymptomatic, they can grow and cause heavy and painful menstruation, painful sexual intercourse, and urinary frequency and urgency

Symptoms:-

  • Heavy Periods
  • Painful periods
  • Abdominal Discomfort
  • Retention of urine
  • Infertility
  • Painful Intercourse
Fibroids may cause feeling of heaviness, discomfort in the pelvic area during the mensrual periods and it often causes pain and excesive menstrual bleeding. Large fibroids may exert pressure on the bladder and causing a woman the need to urinate frequently or more urgently. Large fibroids may not get adequate blood supply and hence may shrink. Even while degenerating, fibroids cause pain. Another symptom is heavy menstrual bleeding which may lead to anemia.

Fibroids that cause no symptoms before pregnancy may cause problems during pregnancy. Problems include miscarriage, premature labor, abnormal positioning of the baby and heavy bleeding after delivery.

Ayurveda has wonderful treatments for Uterine fibroids, which not only reduce the size of the Uterine Fibroids or complete removal, but also reduce the sufferings during the menstrual periods and facilitates proper functioning of the Uterus and the Ovary, which increases the chances of pregnancy in the long run and overcomes infertility.

In this case we have fine results and testimonials also like:
Sunita Rani ( Female, 41 years)
I was having the problem of Fibroid of uterus having size 10*14mm with inhomogenous collection 53mm*17mm*35mm with a ovarian cyst and all doctors and surgeons advised to operate immediately, but I took the course of Dr Dixit and after three months with diet plans, I recovered completely.

Osteoarthritis (OA) is the most common joint disorder, which is due to aging and wear and tear on a joint. Arthritis is an inflammation of one or more joints, joint is the area where two or more bones meet. In Ayurveda it is called Sandhivata and is classified as Vatavyadhi and it is also believed that any type of pain cannot be without the presence of Vata.
Although Sandhivata cripples a large number of persons, it rarely kills any persons. Thus, there is not other disease which causes so much suffering for so long. Because of the tendency to cripple without killing Sandhivata is one of the chronic diseases from the stand point of social and economic importance.
Causes, incidence, and risk factors
Osteoarthritis is a normal result of aging. It is also caused by 'wear and tear' on a joint.
·         Cartilage is the firm, rubbery tissue that cushions your bones at the joints, and allows bones to glide over one another.
·         If the cartilage breaks down and wears away, the bones rub together. This causes pain, swelling, and stiffness.
·         Bony spurs or extra bone may form around the joint. The ligaments and muscles around the joint become weaker and stiff.
Often, the cause of OA is unknown. It is mainly related to aging.
The symptoms of OA usually appear in middle age. Almost everyone has some symptoms by age 70. However, these symptoms may be minor.
Other factors can also lead to OA.
·         OA tends to run in families.
·         Being overweight increases the risk of OA in the hip, knee, ankle, and foot joints because extra weight causes more wear and tear.
·         Fractures or other joint injuries can lead to OA later in life. This includes injuries to the cartilage and ligaments in your joints.
·         Jobs that involve kneeling or squatting for more than an hour a day put you at the highest risk. Jobs that involve lifting of weight, climbing stairs, or walking also put you at risk.
·         Playing sports that involve direct impact on the joint (such as football), twisting (such as basketball or soccer), or throwing also increase the risk of arthritis.
Symptoms
Pain and stiffness in the joints are the most common symptoms. The pain is often worse after exercise and when you put weight or pressure on the joint.
If you have osteoarthritis, your joints probably become stiff and hard to move over time. You may notice a rubbing, grating, or crackling sound when you move the joint. Joint swelling (bones around the joints may feel larger than normal)
Acharya Charaka has defined the disease that when provoked Vata locates in the Sandhi, it causes Shotha which on palpation appears like bag inflated with air and the movements of extension and flexion are accompanied with pain.
The phrase "morning stiffness" refers to the pain and stiffness you may feel when you first wake up in the morning. Stiffness usually lasts for 30 minutes or less. It is improved by mild activity that "warms up" the joint.
During the day, the pain may get worse when you're active and feel better when you are resting. After a while, the pain may be present when you are resting. It may even wake you up at night. Some people might not have symptoms, even though x-rays show the changes of OA.
Signs and tests
An x-ray of affected joints will show a loss of the joint space. In advanced cases, there will be a wearing down of the ends of the bone and bone spurs.
Treatments

Staying active and getting exercise helps maintain joint and overall movement. Ask your health care provider to recommend an appropriate home exercise routine. Water exercises, such as swimming, are especially helpful.
