From the look of the runways and fashion week street style snapshots, it looks like next winter, we'll all be sporting beanies. They will even be style with high heels and fur. Any ideas on how to keep your hair shape and volume? I'm guessing that those unfortunate souls like me with ultra fine hair will have to keep their beanies on all day. On the other hand, you won't have to wash your have every single day, say goodbye to bad hair days :)

Yanlız benim gibi cansız saçlara sahipseniz, bereyi sabah geçirdiğimiz gibi yatana kadar çıkarmayacaksınız demektir bu. Diğer bir yandan da her sabah saçlarınızı yıkamak zorunda değilsiniz artık :)

Overall, the couture shows so far over in Paris, seemed to disappoint this season. No jaw dropping collections so far. (Desperately missing Galliano's exuberant theatricality and grandure.) However, Lagerfeld's Chanel was rather a feast to the eyes, especially the make-up. Peter Phillips was the genius behind these gothic fairies. The collection was full of the classic Chanel tweed with a special emphasis on shoulders. The ecru coat (maybe a dress?) would be my favorite coat (dress*) ever and the other tweeds would solve my "I have nothing to wear" dilemnas for work. (As if I would be working, if I could actually afford Chanel for the workplace). Thigh high lace boots with open-toes were abundant, very unpractical even on my own standards. the leather ones are also too fetish for my taste. The column shaped evening wear did not excite me as I am not a big fan of the large flower prints (which are in fact not prints but painstakingly time consuming expensive hand embroidery that cost a fortune, but I still do not like them). However, the last look below with the powder blue feathered and shredded hems, is just beautiful and I believe will be a red carpet success for eirther Diane Kruger or Charlize Theron. Let's wait and see if this happens. And lastly, please excuse the tons of backstage beauty looks, I just adore this make up. 

Couture haftasında Paris'ten gelen şimdiye kadar gelen haberler düşündürücü. Henüz kimsenin ağzının açık kaldığı bir koleksiyon yok. (Bence Galliano'nun yaratıcı teatralliği ve görkemi oldukça özleniyor.) Yine de Karl Lagerfeld'in defilesi gözleri okşuyor, özellikle de saç ve makyaja dikkatli baktığınızda. Bu gotik peri kızlarının arkasında makyaj sanatçısı Peter Phillips var. Koleksiyonda yine her zamanki klasik Chanel  tüvitleri başrolde, silüetlerde güçlü omuzlar dikkati çekiyor. Hayır korkmayın, vatkalar geri gelmedi, Karl çok daha sempatik bir çözüm bulmuş. İlk resimdeki ekru pardesüye bayıldım, belki de elbisedir bilemiyorum. Her halükarda kendisini istiyorum. Diğer tüvitler ise "işe giyecek hiç birşeyim yok" sendromuma birebir. Tabii bunları alıp işe gidebilecek olsam işe gider miydim, işyerim neresi olurdu gibi soruları şu anda göz ardı ediyorum. Ayakkabılarda dizüstü dantel buru açık çizmelerden başka bir şey yok neredeyse, benim gibi bir ayakkabı delisi için bile fazla fantezi. Deri olanlar ise fazlaca fetiş. Gece kıyafetlerinde beni çok fazla çeken olmadı, bir defa o ilkokul deseni gibi duran çiçekleri sevmedim. Her ne kadar inanılmaz kaliteli ve de dolayısı ile pahalı bir el işçiliği ürünü olsalar da basma gibi duruyorlar (Moda tansıları beni taş edicek!). Ama en sondaki uçuk bebek mavisi elbiseye bayıldım. Omuzlarındaki tüyler ve kelebekler, liğme liğme edilmiş etekler kesinlikle çok güzel. Bu elbiseyi Diane Kruger veya Charlize Theron kırmızı halıda giymezse yazık olur. Bakalım olacak mı? Bu arada bir milyon tane defile arkası makyaj görüntüsü için şimdiden özür dilerim, fazla güzeller... 

Evet, New York Moda Haftası bitti ve Londra başladı ama New York'tan kalan favorilerimden bahsetmezsem olmaz. Özellikle de Proenza Schouler ve Altuzarra'yı asla es geçemezdim. 

Yeap, New York Fashion Week is so over and London is now full on but I just had to share the second part of my NYFW favorites. Especially Proenza Schouler and Altuzarra are absolutely fantastic. 

Son bir kaç koleksiyondur favorim olan Altuzarra (zaten aslında çok genç bir marka) mahallenin kabadayısına benzemeden ceketlerimizi rahat ve cool bir şekilde omzumuza atmamız için kolların alt tarafına gizli kesikler atmış. Böylece panço ve ceket arası bu arası bu modellerle Abuziddin Efendi'den çok bir Vogue editörüne benzeyeceksiniz. Mavi beyaz çizgili erkek gömleğinden devşirme üstleri ve püskül detaylarını çok sevdim, her an bir DIY (Kendin Yap) projesi çıkabilir, beylerin gömlekleri ve annelerin perdeleri tehlikede. Gladyatör sandalet/çizmeler ise anlamsız oldukları kadar güzel ve de pratikler. Hayatımızı kolaylaştırdığın için teşekkürler Joseph.

Altuzarra is one of my absolute favorites from the last few seasons (it's actually a pretty young brand) and Joseph Altuzarra has just made looking cool and comfortable a thousand times easier with the jackets resting on our shoulders with a perfect ease. There are actually slit underneath the armpits of each jacket. These jacket/poncho type covers will make sure that you'll strut like a Vogue editor instead of a Turkish swashbuckler. The blue and white striped men's shirts are waiting to be DIY'ed, guys protect your wardrobe and the tassels are pretty, moms protect your curtains. The amazingly meaningless yet gorgeous sandal/knee length boots are to die as well as easy-to-wear. Thanks for making our lives easier Joseph. 







Michael Kors, Ralph Lauren ve Calvin Klein ile birlikte Amerikan spor şıklığının en bilinen temsilcilerinden. Bu sezon oldukça yoğun bir şekilde temel renkleri baz almış. Doğrusu baştan aşağı kırmızı siyah kıyafetler benim gözümü fazla yoruyor ama arada kullanılan sarı parçalar dikkat çekici olduğu kadar kullanışlı. (Yellow Fever trendine uygun diğer parçalar için sizi buraya alayım.) Son birkaç yıldır dijital baskı kullanmayana tasarımcı demiyorlar, sanırım bu yüzden kendi çizgisinin dışına çıkarak gözkyüzü ve havuz baskıları kullanmış. Sonuç gözü tırmalamasa da etkileyici değil. Ama iş gece elbiselerine gelince, Kors'un geometrik kesiklerle oluşturduğu basit silüetler insanı hayran bırakıyor. Pleksi aksesuarlar ve ayakkabılardaki şeffaf detaylar muhteşem. Tabii en muhteşemi Karlie Kloss, her taşıdığı parça sezona damgasını vuruyor. (Lanvin'in tek omuzlu kırmızı, pembe, beli kemerli gece elbisesini hatırlayın) 

Michael Kors is one of the masters of sporty American chic along with Ralph Lauren and Calvin Klein. He based his collection on block primary colors. While the 60's buckles and the strong tone of the red he used (not shown) irritate me, I love the yellow pieces, bright and fun. (See more of the Yellow Fever trend here.) As all designers are using digital prints in the last couple of seasons, Michael must have felt compelled to jump on the bandwagon. The sky and pool prints are OK but nothing spectacular. But the long black dresses with the smartest cut-outs ever are completely drool-worthy. The plexiglass accessories and clear details on shoes are amaze-balls. of course, Karlie Kloss is the definition of cool, making each piece she wears an instant hit. (Remember the one-shoulder red and pink Lanvin dress with the belt. )





Milly'nin pastel renkleri ve sportif detaylarına bayıldım. Şeffaf ceketler, gümüş rengi deri etekler ve fileli üstler favorilerim. Tamamıyla genç ve çok eğlenceli bir koleksiyon. 

I'm just loving Milly's pastel colors and sportswear inspired details. The transparent jackets, silver leather skirts with snakeskin effects and fishnet tops are completely awesome to style with. Such a young and fun collection. 






Narciso Rodriguez yine tam kendisinden beklediğim tarzda ultra seksi ama maskülen bir koleksiyon sundu. İlk elbiselerin yakalarındaki mimari görünümlü pencereler tam kıvamında. Askılı elbiselerin rahatlığı ve modernliği harika. Elbiselere eklediği kumaş panelleri oldukça dikkat çekici. Ve son olarak kullandığı kuş desenleri ise muhteşem. 

Narciso Rodriguez' collection is as sexy as I expected from him and yet ultra masculine. The architectural cut-outs in front of the first dresses are done just right. The lightweight strappy dresses are grounded by the impeccable placement of solid color blocks. And as for prints, he slams that department, too. That bird print is absolutely gorgeous. 





Proenza Schouler'ın bu koleksiyonunu tarif etmeye naçizane kelime dağarcığım yetmiyor. Modellerin yağlı görünümlü saçları bile beni soğutamadı. Neredeyse tamamı yamalı kıyafetlerden oluşuyor, sanki tümü önce dikildikten sonra parçalara bölünüp tekrar birleştirilmiş. Koleksiyonun ilk kısmında geniş hacimli ve perfore delikli deri ceketler ve etekler vardı. Her ne kadar bu komple deri parçalar da muhteşem olsalar da, daha çok bu detaylı, renkli, karmakarışık stilleri seçtim. Zaten deri parçalarından yamaları diğer parçalarında da bolca kullanmış. İlk iki resimdeki deri detaylı eteklerin ikisi için de ölebilirim, aynı şekilde üstler de harika. Sonraki resimlerdeki 70'ler esintili etekleri uçuşan elbiseler romantizme göz kırpsalar da baskıları ve birleştirilmiş dikişleri ile kesinlikle fazlasıyla modernler. Dijital baskılı elbiseler ve parçalar da yine aynı şekilde birbirine dikilmiş parçalardan oluşuyor ve suyun altında kırılma efekti yaratıyorlar. Bu elbiselerin ulaşılabilir "azimlenmiş" versiyonlarını dört göz ile bekliyorum. 

My vocabulary is insufficient for describing Proenza Schouler's latest collection. Even the greasy hair looks of the models could not cool me off. Almost all of the pieces are made with what looks like a modern patchwork technique which creates a mood of a mad-woman cutting up her clothes and sewing them back together with remorse. In the opening part of the collection, we saw boxy perforated leather separates. As amazing as these jackets and skirts were, I want to focus on the more detailed colorful and mixed pieces, fitting better with the mad-woman aesthetic.The leather patches are used on these pieces too. I could die for the two skirts in the first outfits, and I love their tops as well. The following flowy dresses in the next pictures give off a romantic 70's vibe and yet remain completely contemporary and adult-like with the prints and cut-up-and-sewn-back-together look. The digital print dresses and separates are made with a similar technique and create a light refraction effect seen underwater. How awesome is that? I can't wait for the "inspired" version of these dresses. 





Rachel Zoe'nin koleksiyonundan sevdiğim parçaların tamamı monokromatik ve yerleri süpüren tarzda. Fazla orijinal olmasalar da hepsini bol bol giyebilirim. Şehirde geçirilen bir yaz için mükemmeller. 

All my picks from Rachel Zoe are completely monochromatic and floor sweeping. I would wear them to death even if they are not too original. They are perfect for an urban summer. 



Reed Krakoff'tan fazla birşey beğenmedim ama aşağıdaki iki kıyafet çok modern ve cool. Soldaki eteğe ve sağdaki cekete bayıldım. 

These two are my favorites from Reed Krakoff. They are so modern and cool. Love the snakeskin print skirt on the left and the jacket on the right. 

Vera Wang'den iki favorim. Dantel konusunda üzerine yok.

My two favorites from Vera Wang. She does lace so well.  


Senelerin Posh'u Victoria Beckham'dan bu kadar spor bir koleksiyon beklemiyordum doğrusu. Tamamen bacaklara odaklanmış, ayakkabılarındaki tuğla formunu ise söylememe gerek var mı, hiç sevmedim. 

Victoria Beckham's younger line Victoria, is shockingly sporty. Her entire focus is on showing mile high legs. However, needless to say, I despise the log-like footwear.
