Good Girls color pencil card

It's been a long time since I last posted.  Work has been keeping me busy but I hope to be much better about sharing the projects I have been making each month for classes and swaps.  Today I want to share one of the cards I will be teaching at Staples in Glendora at the end of the month.  You can find our more information on my class page here on the blog or on my Facebook page Nikki's Creative Nook.  Lets start with showing you the finished project.
The image is from RGAvenue.com and is called Good Girls.  I used the digital image to size it to the card front.  I then added a sentiment.  I printed it on Kraft colored cardstock because I love how my pencils pop on this color cardstock.  For this card all the blending is done with the pencils themselves.  I didn't use any blending stumps, blending pencils, or gamsol.  Thank you for coming by and checking out my latest projects.  I promise to be much better with posting and sharing my latest creations her as well as on my Instagram and Facebook @StampinNikki

Thanks for stopping by on the hop.  I was excited for this hop theme because I wanted to choose a sport I would love to play.  Who doesn't love a little magic and wish they could fly?  My sport is Quidditch!!!  I have fallen in love with everything Harry Potter since reading the first book.  My first project is highlighting the three goals for the game.  I used the Gryffindor colors for this card and had fun with showing the path of the Golden Snitch.

The other card is used the stamps from Wizard Friends to make a fun background.  I added the 2 Bludgers and the Golden Snitch along with a fun sentiment to Be Magical.

Thanks again for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the hop.

I hope you have enjoyed the hop so far.  I want to share my project for this hop.  I joined a fat page swap and these were my projects,  A fat page is a 4 x 4 page to add to art journals.  I used 3 RG Studio yellow inks to make the watercolor splashes and then added the honeycomb stamp to finish off my background.

I layered that on my Sweet Blue paper to make the tea cups stand out. The cups from the seasonal mugs stamp set are plain so I decorated them with flowers from the You Inspire stamp set.  I love the versatility I have with them because you have the ability to decorate them any way you want.  Once I had all my pieces colored I was able to add my glaze and glitter.

Now I just had to layer them on my base and add my tea bag to the cup.

Thanks for hoping, I always love sharing my creations with others.

Bold Bouquet cards

Today I want to share 2 cards I made using the Bold Bouquet and Yay Greetings stamp sets from RG Studio 360.
You can click on the stamp names to purchase the stamp set if you want.  The great thing about the images from RGStudio360 is that they also come with a digital version.  So you can start creating right away when you make the purchase and then when you get the stamp in the mail shortly after you can then create with the stamp set.

For the first card I used my prisma color pencils to color.  I used the digital image from this set and made the image with the single flower to make an arrangement of 3 flowers.  I also wanted to make these cards on my Kraft paper.  I like how the color pencils pop on the cardstock.

As you can see I used the yellows and oranges to color this first card.  I slowly built up my layers of colors and then used increased pressure to blend the colors.

The second card I used the single stamped image and colored with my pinks.  I also added some white for the highlights in the petals.  For both card I used the pencils themselves and added pressure to blend.  I didn't used any gamsol or blending stumps.  I wanted the images to be very vibrant so I just took my time and built up my layers of colors.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your having fun creating as well.

I couldn't wait to use my little umbrella holding girl from the Spring Thoughts set from RGStudio360.

I have been having a lot of fun with this set.  I have colored it with my color pencils and have watercolored it with my inks.

This first card I used watercolor paper to stamp the image.  I then watercolored using my distress ink pads.  This gave the image a softer edge when colored.

The second card is colored with my color pencils.

As you can see this is very vibrant and bright.  I love to color with my pencils and build the layers of color.  It's fun to see the various shades of colors you can get with each pencil.  I hope you enjoyed my entry for this blog hop. Make sure you leave comments on each stop for your chance to win some of the wonderful sponsored items.  Enjoy the rest of the hop.

Let's get to my project.  I had some fun with my RGStudio360 stamp set Adventure Awaits

I started with using watercolor paper for the background.  I wet the paper and then brushed ink from my Sugar drops to get a colorful background.  I did 2 cards, one in blues and greens, and the other in yellows, reds, and oranges.  Once I had the backgrounds done I set them aside to dry and made my shaker packet.  I made 2 pockets with my Fuse tool to hold the background paper.  I then gathered the items for my shaker, which I used glitter, mica fragments, glass glitters, and chunky glitter. I inserted my background and adding my shaker fun pieces and then sealed my pocket with my fuse tool.  I then layered that on my card front with a frame and then added my stamped images.

As you can see above I used the turtle and the octopus. I wanted to add some texture to my frame for the Octopus card so I used Burlap print stamp. I also used the same color sugar drops to watercolor these images as I did the backgrounds. I think the shaker flakes and glitter make it look like coral and items at the bottom of the ocean. I hope you have enjoyed my cards.  Now it's time to continue on the hop.
