Two men have been arrested following a pursuit through Swindon yesterday morning - 9 February.
A Vauxhall Insignia caught the attention of officers when they saw the driver come off the M4 and onto Great Western Way at high speed at around 1.40am.
A force spokesperson said: "The car was swerving across the carriageway and officers smelled cannabis coming from inside the cabin.
"The suspect driver failed to stop and continued to exceed the speed limit, driving off road and on pavements before hitting several bollards.
"Our short pursuit ended in Tydeman Street when the driver crashed into another bollard and veered into a subway wall.
"Two men were detained and the driver was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and failing to provide a specimen for analysis.
"He has been released on bail while our investigation is ongoing."
Jahred Tafari, 25, of Beech Avenue, was a passenger in the car and has been charged with possession of cannabis. He is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates' Court on 19 March.
