It is basically a study done by collecting data from five modalities in radiology department.Hence the study which was done based on the secondary data concludes that all critical equipments: MRI, CT, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy and gamma camera were not utilized 100 percent and more over there were defects like late arrival of patients, late in transporting the patient, repeating of test procedures, contrast problems, poor preparation of the patient, mishandling of the equipments by the staffs and cancellation of test procedures which effects the utilization rate of the equipments. This is due to loop holes in the protocol followed in the department, which needs to be bridged so that less time is wasted by the patient and the overall process is more effective and patient friendly. Hence, proper training should be given to improve the utilization of machineries, by training the staffs and educating the patient. Therefore the stu...

There is a gap for perception of patient-centered care among patients and healthcare service providers. Aims: This study focuses largely on the perception of patients and the healthcare professionals on the important patient-centered aspects like patient’s values, coordination of care, communication, physical and emotional support given to patients. Method: In this descriptive study at Sri Ramachandra university hospital and Madras Medical College hospital, a multi speciality hospital in India, primary data was obtained from 512 patients and 280 healthcare professionals on the dimension of patient-centered care. A structural equation model was developed based on earlier published literature used to perform a confirmatory factor analysis on proposed model to verify whether the entire factor has the related components. Multiple linear regressions, most common form of linear regression analysis was used to predict the value of a variable based on the value of two or more other variables. Results: Results suggest that perception of healthcare professionals and inpatients differs in the aspects like privacy, time spent, understanding the patient’s needs, overall coordination, information and education, pain management, hospital environment and emotional trust. Conclusion: Though the perception differs from person to person, the healthcare providers can spend some time to understand the patient’s needs and develop a model that all the employees can adopt it to reduce the indifference shown in the patient-centered care aspects.

Various statistical tools like percentage analysis; chi-square analysis, one-way ANOVA and Factor analysis have been used to describe the profile of the patients and healthcare professionals and to evaluate the differences of perception on the attributes among them. The study concludes that there are differences in the perception between the healthcare professionals and the patients. These differences should be adequately addressed and dealt with.

By conducting this research, it is possible to estimate the waiting time in billing process and to suggest the possible ways in increasing the efficiency of the department. The purpose of the study is to identify the process flow activities of outpatient billing department and to find exact time taken for outpatient billing and to improve the patient satisfaction. 122 Sample were used for this descriptive study. Histogram, Control chart, Pareto and Cause and Effect tools were employed to analyse the problem. The result shows that the few vital items for major causes for the delay in outpatient billing were phone enquiry to other departments, doctor's handwriting in prescription, Electronic Data Capture (EDC) machine, and cashieris slow. The main suggestion for reducing the delay in outpatient billing is e-prescription can be given by the doctors ...
