6 A lame man healed (1-10) Hour of prayer, 9 th hour = 3 p.m. Morning sacrifices, 9 a.m., noon prayers, and evening sacrifices, 3 p.m. Man lame from birth. 4:22 says he was over 40 years old. Gate called “Beautiful.” Could be Gate of Nicanor. 9 doors to the temple, all 45’ high except this one which was 75’ and very richly adorned. 7 A lame man healed (1-10) He was severely disabled, laid at gate daily. Would have been recognizable by any who came to the Temple. Asking alms, or begging. No silver or gold, but he would be healed. In the name of Jesus, by authority of, also Matt. 28:18-20. Peter took him by his hand and raised him up, then his feet/ankles received strength. Isa. 35:6. “The the lame shall leap like a deer.” Also references to blind, deaf and dumb being healed when God will come to save you. The people were amazed. Miracle was not from men, but from God. Abraham, Isaac, Jacob. Servant Jesus. Isa 42:1; 52:13; 53:11. You delivered, denied, asked for a murderer, Barabbas, Luke 23:13-25. 10 Peter preaches (11-26) Prince of life, or Author of Eternal Life. Same word used in Heb. 5:9; 12:2 as author. Healing through faith in his name. Not faith of the lame man, but of Peter and John. Ignorance. Jesus/cross, Lk. 23:34, “know not what they do.” Prophecies were fulfilled. Peter preaches (11-26) Prince of life, or Author of Eternal Life.

11 Peter preaches (11-26) Repent, be converted (turn), sins blotted out, times of refreshing. Very similar to 2:38, repent, be baptized, remission of sins, gift of Holy Spirit. Turn again, found also in Acts 28:27, “lest they should understand with their hearts and turn,” and Matt. 18:3, “converted as little children.” Warning from Moses, Deut. 18:15, 18-19.
