Dr Adrian Pranata is a Senior Lecturer in Physiotherapy at the School of Health and Biomedical Sciences. His PhD study investigated a novel biomechanical assessment of lumbar muscle force control and lifting movement in people with chronic low back pain. His interdisciplinary research aims to improve the quality and specificity of the assessment and management of chronic musculoskeletal conditions—in particular, low back pain—using novel technologies such as artificial intelligence, exoskeletons, robotics, and biomechanical modelling. His work has been presented nationally and internationally and has been commercialised. He was the past Chair of Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Australia (VIC) and still actively practices as a musculoskeletal physiotherapist on the weekend.
