I used pearlescent paints to create a gorgeous piece of artwork! | By MollysArtistry | I am really trying to pull out all the stops on this painting. I am starting with a couple of ring pores and I started with one light to dark and another dark to light. I did decide after I poured the ring pours that I wanted just a little bit more contrast throughout. So I decided to pour a little bit more of the lighter color through the ring From here, I'm going to take the skewer and create a pattern. Now, after I create this pattern, I am then going to take puddles of the pearlescent paints and pour them around but first, I needed to add the dark base. This one was really in multiple parts and it created a beautiful gradient base from dark to light. So these are the pearlescent colors that change color once they dry. And I just love these patterns. My paints are mixed with flowtrol and gloss medium for these. It helps the colours stay really bright once it dries. My paints are quite thick for this technique as well so that the pattern holds as I stretch it out. So now we're going to come back through again. And you want to take your time with the skewer to make sure you get the pattern that you like. You can go in any direction you like and each time it will be a little bit different and it doesn't look like much now but I am so excited about how this stretched out and how the final painting looks. It's amazing what it looks like before and after you tilt. Just one last corner to get to and I love the pattern. I wanted to bring it just a little bit over the edge and back towards the center. But I cannot wait to show you this outcome. There's so much motion and so many beautiful colors and you can see how it starts with the silver base and then turns into a darker background as you go down the canvas. Super happy with this one.

147K views · 3.3K reactions | Everything But the Kitchen Sink in BLUES | I love this series called "Everything but the kitchen sink" where I take left over paints and mix them with pearlescent paints to swipe through them and... | By MollysArtistry | Time for my next installment of Everything But the Kitchen Sink. I am using beautiful blue colors for this one. If you are new to the series, I take leftover paints that I have saved up from paintings that I've done over the past few weeks and I mix them with pearlescent paints and the design is always a little bit different but it helps me use up my leftovers but also it creates some of the prettiest designs and I have been experimenting with how to lay the colors down, which colors I use, and also which color I swipe through them. So this one is all about blues. It is a beautiful cerulean blue, ultramarine violet, some turquoise green, phalo blue, and a prussian blue paints gray mixture and it is so much fun. I cover the entire canvas with these paints and then I swipe through them and the swipe direction and the motion that it creates is really what decides the composition. I do these ribbon pores over top to give a little bit more interest and it's always So much fun to see how the pearlescent colors dry. So for this one, I used a pearlescent violet, a pearlescent green, and a pearlescent blue. And then I'm dragging my finger through to kind of break up a little bit of the design from the ribbon pores. And ooh those colors are so pretty. I love the small hints of violet that are in this one. And that comes from the pearlescent paints. But it also comes from the ultramarine blue that I used. You can already kind of see a little bit of the pearl colors coming through but when I show you the final result, you can definitely see those beautiful pearl colors. This one is one of my favorites out of the series and it has already gone to its forever home with a lovely lady named Jennifer. So, you can see those tiny little parts of pearl green and pearl violet and of course, the beautiful pearl blue. I love the lacing and I love the design in this one and these kitchen sink pours are just so much fun and what a great way to use up your leftover paints. Super happy, super fun result. Happy painting.
