Why a Wedding Photographer wants a video call before BOOKING?!? #weddingphotography

As a wedding photographer I love to meet you over a video call before you book. 1️⃣ It’s a great chance to get to know you. While you may have shared a bit about your love story in your initial enquiry, trust me, I love to hear more! 2️⃣ This one works both ways. I need to fit for you and you need to fit for me. What do I mean by this? I want to give you the best experience and for you to feel comfortable letting your love stories unfold in front of someone who is essentially a stranger. I want you to feel trusting in myself on your wedding day and that I am someone you can be yourself around. 3️⃣ I want to make sure I answer all of your questions. A phone call, or video call is the best way for me to do this and leave nothing unanswered.

⚠️ Stuck in a wedding supplier minefield? ⚠️ With there being so many wedding suppliers out there, it is increasingly hard to know who to go with. One of my favourite pieces of advice is to video call your suppliers and see if they fit your wedding day. Before anything else that might sway your decision, you need someone that can work for you and vice versa. This is what my wife and I did when we started our own wedding planning journey. This is something I always have with my couples and I love meeting, chatting and explaining the process. I have a love/hate relationship with Facebook groups as a Somerset wedding photographer and here’s why. So, a couple will ask about looking for a wedding photographer on a certain date and they will get spammed with the same comments all the time! Most photographers will post their prices and that’s it!!!… where is the value to that couple? My approach is different and it works. Add value. Ask questions first. Open up a dialogue and get to know a couple before getting anywhere near talking prices. So that’s my 2 cents on the matter. If you are looking for wedding suppliers, do some digging. Find who will work best for you on your big day. Don’t get spammed. Don’t allow yourself to be panicked by the masses. Make life easier and hand pick who you want and in your own time.
