(ENG) Leopard 2A4 main battle tank

A model of the German Leopard 2A4 main battle tank in scale 1:35

The "Big Iron Car" was my service car during my time in the German Army, which is also the reason for my fascination for armored vehicles.

The proportions are largely correct for 1:35 scale, even if the tracks are a bit wide.
The turret can be rotated and the Rheinmetall 120mm/L44 gun can be aimed in height, on the roof is a Peri17 periscope and a MG3 machine gun (7.62x51).

(GER) Kampfpanzer Leopard 2A4

Very wonderful build. Does it stay up well without the functional suspension?

Nice build, thank you for uploading the instructions.
I didn't have all the parts in the correct color but it's a camouflage painting so i didn't care too much. With some minor adjustments I managed to put the LEGO BOOST Hub inside the build and you can drive with it but without suspension it is not "Geländetauglich"

This is an awesome design, just finished it today! I love how you've used fairly standard bricks, it kept the price to build it down. Comparing the build to photos just shows how much attention you've paid to some of the minor details.
Only one tiny thing in the instructions, on step 83 the arrows don't align with the parts getting installed.

      thank you for the praise,
I always try not to use expensive parts.
No idea what happened to the arrows, they are in the right place in the page designer.

I really enjoyed the build, it is actually bigger than i thought, but it isn't to big, which makes it a good size, compared to my cars

    Hello RadOlf.
First my compliments for the Leopard Tank, it's very detailed and looks awesome!!
I ordered the parts and start the build.
    My question is,
why are the wheels not mirror-wise posted, on either side of the hull?
The Right-front wheel-axle, is now touching the Plate 1 x 6, underneath the hull.
Just for a test, i'm gonna put the entirely right-side 1 stud to the rear.
    Grt Robbert

Because in reality it is also like this, the torsion bar suspension run across the hull and are therefore offset, with the right side slightly in front of the left side

I’ve been eagerly awaiting the release of instructions for the MOC!  The instructions are very professional - Danke Schoen!
It’s wonderful to see a fellow tanker making such great models, I spent 8 years of my life on the Abrams.   I’ve always loved the look of the 2A4 and other Leo 2s with the vertical turret sides as they are reminiscent of the Tiger.
Again - thank you for making this available.

I love what you did at this scale, it is very difficult to put so many details in this build, great job and thanks for sharing it

For personal ethical reasons, I never like military mocs, so I leave a positive comment for the rendering of your model. It is really a great success.
