Her troubled relationship with her abusive father and a bloody incident with her sheepdog leads her to run away to the local Catholic Church to seek forgiveness and shelter. Instead, she witnesses Aime, the life partner of her estranged uncle Severe, being denied the last rites by the parish priest because of his sexual orientation. Curious, she follows them home and discovers that Aime is dying painfully, but because of his religious convictions, Severe refuses to euthanize him. Marie decides to let go of her Catholic beliefs and makes the decision give him drugs to ease his suffering and let him pass in peace. Written by
