In the Piper family kitchen, an African American father and Caucasian American mother are confronted by their angry daughter, a girl obviously of Asian descent, demanding to know who her "real" parents are. In a casting office in Manhattan, a young actress, Ashley, is offered a dream movie if only she is willing to sacrifice her pride.
