One morning, she receives a call from a man, whose voice is heavy with despair. He's reluctant to reveal his name and the source of his pain, only hinting at a troubled past and overwhelming guilt. Elizabeth's concern grows when she learns he's suicidal and has taken a dangerous cocktail of prescription pills. Isolated and with no other support available, not even an ambulance, Elizabeth must use her compassion and intuition to keep him on the line. As the conversation deepens, Elizabeth discovers he struggles with bipolar disorder and the societal stigma that has prevented him from seeking help. She becomes his lifeline, offering understanding as he confronts his demons. She deduces his real name is Jeremy and gleans enough information to locate him.
