The programme was subsequently ...See moreProduced by Grampian Television in North Scotland, and initially shown only in the Grampian and Scottish ITV regions, Gather Round was a Religious Education series for younger primary school children. The programme was subsequently networked across the UK as part of ITV's service for schools and colleges. The first series focused on Christianity and its values, with songs, stories and features about families, friendships and the community - the stories tended to have a basic moral issue or dilemma that children could relate to. Later series had a similar style, but expanded to feature other religions and their festivals as well as the Christian faith to better reflect the multicultural and multi-faith schools and communities to which many of its young viewers belonged.
