The icon of American ambition, Ray Kroc, who would go on to become the CEO of the company, first partnered with the McDonald brothers in 1955. To celebrate this important milestone, McDonald's Restaurants had Leo Burnett UK create a series of commercials based on the historic US highway. The spots featured the McRib, the Hollywood Melt, and the McTexan, with each meal highlighting a location on the famed route. Actor Robert Firth was one of the voices used in the UK campaign.
