The drug is so ubiquitous that in the market, it is simply known as the patch. But the patch is not a cure. It merely calms the most overt symptoms of the virus for 6 to 8 hours. Our story starts with Shehzad Ameen, a reporter documenting the spread of the virus. He is on the trail of a man called Imtiaz Wasti, a brilliant pharmaceutical scientist who initially developed the patch.
