Instead of talking to him with respect and addressing the problem professionally. The homeowner decides to humiliate the gardener and talk down to him in front of his wife. His wife is horrified by her husband treats other people and decides to stick up for the gardener who works hard on their home. She recognizes the gardener from high school and even becomes more enraged with her husband. The husband refuses to apologize and only makes the situation worse with his wife when he compares the better life she has now and that she should be grateful.
