It is Inspector Dupré who is in charge of the investigation. She quickly learns from the victim's wife that he had many enemies, and was not respected that much in the profession. She also learns that women and the police are not welcome at the factory, a macho world where everyone remains silent. However, she ends up discovering that the CEO was also a con man, trafficking in meat and embezzling EEC subsidies. So, a person or an organization linked to these fraudulent activities probably had an interest in seeing him disappear.
