In addition to being the center of the city's football, the stadium, which was used as a field hospital in the 1999 earthquake, has been the meeting point of the whole city during the national festivals. Founded in 1965, Sakaryaspor played all matches in this stadium for 51 years. During this time stadium became a focal point for Sakaryaspor which produced 4 top goal scorers and dozens of national team players through their youth academy. Sakaryaspor's legacy in Turkish football has entirely been built in this stadium. "Bizim Stat", was an attempt to shoot a documentary with total of over 100 interviews and one to one conversations with people that the youngest one was aged 7 and the oldest 82 including a massive archive building in order to transmit this 90 years of legacy to the future.
