Matilda decides to ...See more"A Basement Film" is about Matilda, an English major at U of M Ann Arbor, who is struggling to find her way through mental illness and other personal issues such as a bad self-esteem and hooking up with the wrong dudes. Matilda decides to go home for the weekend and spend some time with her best friend Roxanne and her brother Ernie, who also happens to be Roxanne's boyfriend. Joining them are their stoner buddies Steve and Brandon - Steve, although technically a genius, won't leave his little bubble and go off to college and Brandon, Matilda's former HS fling, is just content chillin' All of these buddies smoke, do mushrooms, and try to handle the several catastrophes and stresses that occur with coming of age and realizing that you're a hot mess.
