The Eiger, or Ogre, is suitably named because of its North Face as it is one of the most difficult ones in the Alps and has been the stage of many high-profile dramas. But it is on the ridge Mittellegi, overlooking the abyss of the North Face, vertiginous and aerial, that Carole decided to reach the summit. For the first time, she experiences vertigo.
