Nell, as a half-serious joke, succeeds in having Jack arrested by Constable Gooseneck, and then, womanlike, turns repentant and seeks a means of getting him out. All ordinary methods failing to bring his release from the little country jail, Nell is struck with a sudden scheme. She boards a monster movable derrick, races alongside the jail and picks up the entire structure. As the jail is tossed about in mid-air with Jack and Gooseneck tumbling helter-skelter, the former succeeds in climbing up the chimney and making his escape. At the water's edge Nell and Jack give the jail a few extra whirls in the air and then drop it plump into the water. The final scene of the whirlwind finish finds Constable Gooseneck crawling to safety through the chimney, while Nell and Jack rush off for the minister to settle their quarrels for all time.
