Thanks to a tip from Phyllis, he gets Kay to admit the gems were not stolen--but swindled from her by a handsome playboy. This man Alex Bertani, is a member of a confidence racket gang headed by syndicate hoods Ernie Boros and Roy Eland who try to frighten Robin off by a beating and attempted murder. Robin tracks them down, rescues Phyllis who has fallen into their hands and he breaks up the gang. See less
