Arriving at the junction, the two principals and their friends proceed by wagon to the interior, and then by foot along a difficult trail, the globe-trotter being blindfolded. He is left with provisions and an alarm clock, which will announce to him when he may remove the bandage from his eyes and start to make his way out. In the woods he meets a prospector's daughter, whom he accompanies to her father's cabin. He becomes so interested in her that he forgets the wager until the eleventh hour and, at the old man's suggestion, telegraphs his success to the club. While the men are away on this errand, two bandits besiege the lone girl in the cabin. Her lover arrives in time to rescue her. Thus he wins, not only the wager, but a bride. Written by
