A shy child, Morgan found herself through acting in local theatre productions in Dallas, and she moved to New York at age 23, landing a starmaking role on the daytime soap "Search for Tomorrow" after only 6 weeks in the city! She left that show in 1977 and made her way to Hollywood. Prime time stardom soon arrived in the form of the flashy drama series "Flamingo Road." This new series was so popular and so sexy that Morgan soon found herself under attack by self-righteous Rev. Donald Wildmon, who criticized the show's sexual frankness and called Morgan "the worst woman in America." Morgan went on to prove herself as an actress by starring in "Paper Dolls," "Falcon Crest," and "The City." She also became a dedicated activist, standing up for various causes including the environment and AIDS (she was one of the first celebrities to speak out about the need for funding for AIDS research).
