Through Burton's influence, the aged Colonel is ...See moreGrace, the daughter of Colonel Wesley, is betrothed to a young army lieutenant, Jack Dunbar. She is also loved by William Burton, an attache of the War Department, whom she refuses to marry. Through Burton's influence, the aged Colonel is transferred to the Philippine Islands. Burton offers to have him returned if Grace will consent to marry him. Dunbar withdraws as a suitor, and the girl agrees to make the sacrifice, in order to save her father from the harsh climate. As the marriage is about to be solemnized, Dunbar rushes into the church with the information that Colonel Wesley has been killed in battle.
