Employer is her Indian mother Gita Scharma, who is dead-set to her arranged remarriage to local tycoon John Jennings, best friend of her late first husband. Riley accepts to stay after learning Anjali staged the incident herself, the pair get romantically involved despite a bad start due to her secrecy about a Bollywood casting, and another chandelier ghost strikes, but their unprofessional affair sees him replaced, at least officially, as he now sleuths the past to clear the present danger.
