Ron never learned how to be a good parent or a role model, and was never there when his son grew up. As the years passed, they drifted further and further apart until Ron was left alone with his regrets. Years later, after his son and his son's wife were killed in an accident, Ron learns that he has a 9-year old granddaughter, Cassandra that now needs a new home and loving parents. Ron hesitantly agrees to take her in, but from the moment she walks through the door, it becomes apparent that he has no idea what a good parent is suppose to be like. Despite their differences in personalities, Ron starts to see a side in her that reminds him of his own son when he was a child, which brings up old memories and feelings that motivates him to be the parent he never was. But as day turns into night, they start getting on each other's nerves, and after a heated argument Ron sends her to bed without dinner. When Ron calms down, he realizes he crossed the line, and must now come up with a way to set it all right. But before he can figure out how to reach Cassandra, he must first go back to all the painful memories and resolve all the conflicts between him and his son.
