The images are courting a stage...See moreNOW-IS NOW is the prestige opus of the artist Tonda Wellmer and represents the pinnacle of his career as an illusionist. He creates the illusion of the existence of a show event and a hype that is due to it. The images are courting a stage project that does not really exist in this way. Tonda Wellmer uses emotive images to sell the illusion of a dream, life, spirit and youth movement. Psychedelic cartoon sequences, highly detailed surreal animations and emotive realism alternate with shots of celebrating people and meme-like word segments. From the sparkling Mandela to transforming objects and crystal beings, such as 2-dimensional scenes and surreal landscapes, the film shows a variety of fantastic scenery. The sequences where celebrating people are shown are designed in an acuminated shape to make the experience of the project more tempting. The almost intrusive polarizing style means criticize the commercialized music industry in a hidden way, since the design of the film partly reminds of commercially manipulative ads from television and contradicts the basic idea of the project, which is to donate 51% of all profits in the emotional perception as a compromise between capitalism and altruism. The observer experiences a change between comforting imaginative and emotionalising impressions, a selfless basic thought and the pointed depiction of the sale of this idea, as well as the suggested lifestyle in function of a sale. Tonda Wellmer leaves socio-critical motifs out and shows only positive emotions and impressions.Tonda Wellmer said this about his work. "The goal of illusion is to make the one thing that seems impossible to an individual possible." For copyright reasons Tonda Wellmer's film has never been released. Rumors say that during a PC repair data were stolen. The thieves published the first film in forums and this led to a duplication of the work.
