If Wes can't overcome what's bothering him, he could become like one of the older, cynical regulars at the bar he hangs out in with his friend, Colin, who suggests that Wes' problem has less to do with writing about dead people and more to do with a girl he can't quite get over. The two friends' attitudes and situations stand in contrast with the other bar customers around them, but if Wes keeps lingering on the past, he might be another one of the defeated men who linger like ghosts on the bar's periphery.
